So let me get this straight :
  • McDavid two-hander after the whistle which started the whole scrum : no discipline.

  • correct...happens all the time in games
[*]Zadorov cross-check to McDavid’s back in response to the two-hander : FINE
correct call, maybe even give him a game
[*]Soucy cross-check to McDavid in response to the two-hander which should have been mitigated by the fact that the intent was to the chest and McDavid had a late downward movement due to the Zadorov hit, and that there was no injury : SUSPENSION
    don't cross-check with intent....no suspension
    plain and simple
[*]Hyman cross-check to Zadorov’s face which caused an actual injury (blood/cut/stitches) and was actually intended for the face/head : no discipline.
Hyman's was hardly vicious lol
Checks out! Seems totally fair.

Basically this whole thing is a ‘don’t touch McBaby’ deal. What a joke.
so it's cool if we cross check Hughes in the face?

The messaging from the league is that you can do whatever you want, as long as you don't do that thing to McDavid.

Why would any new fans take this league seriously when it shows blatant favouritism.

Cool so you agree that Hyman should be suspended two games for an intentional crosscheck to the face of Zadorov.

Yeah sure. Whatever. Obviously I am not gonna whine or cry for it but if he gets it whatever.

1 game is fair. I remember reading somewhere that 1 game in the playoffs is equal to 4 games in the regular season. That said I did not like this sequence of events at all. I get McDavid is probably trying to spark his team for the next game but Oilers do not match up physically to the Canucks at all. There was no need for him to approach Soucy. The game was over. He's not a tough guy and the Oilers have no tough guys on the roster. You might say Kane but Kane is probably equal to Miller in that department. Oilers have no answer to Zadorov, Myers, Joshua. Just play the skilled game and try to keep the puck in the O zone Oilers.

Soucy started the scrum with an initial crosscheck and you're missing the part where Soucy gets an equivalent slash in too. It's like you have selective viewing with the homer shades.

This team has experienced Jim Benning terrible management and Travis Green coaching them.
You think Soucy being suspended affects them?

They've been through worse.
and you think the oilers are afraid of bad goaltending? weve been playing like this since 2006

Hyman's had far more intent than Soucy. So which is it?
nah man, hyman writes childrens books he was probably just making sure everyone was ok and the ref pushed him into zadorov cause the refs hate vancouver. especially a ref whos 11-0 when the canucks are playing

The league is so focused on bending over for the Mcbaby era oilers it's actually embarrasing. 9 years in and best they have to show for it is getting swept in the 3rd round while crying to the refs all the way through. Maybe they are another lottery win away from not being a complete paper tiger one line team. Hopefully Aquilini goes scorched earth on Parros just like the Rangers did, what a disgrace.

Hoglander gets speared in the nuts.

Hyman cross checks to the face in the same game.

McDavid two hands Hughes face.

But no, lets suspend a retaliation for a slash.

This league is a joke,

Anyways, Oilers got their pound of flesh, Soucy gets a game to recover / rest, and a Zadorov gets stitches and cements a rep that he's not some dainty little flower. Back to Hockey!

I do hope this took up enough media attention that Skinner gets the start next game though.

Zadorov's was not to the head.

Hyman's was to the head and intentional.
Zadorov was in the back from behind third man in lol… gutless play

He got what was coming to him. Isn’t that what all the Canucks fans were saying about mcdavid and his “baseball swing”?

At least the suspension gives you a few more ready made excuses

It's hilarious that when McDavid gets crosschecked in the face its "f*** around and find out" and "don't stay in the kitchen if you can't handle the heat" but when Zadorov gets crosschecked in the face after a fracas that he was a MASSIVE part of its "wahhh wahhhh wahhhhhhhhh where's the discipline where's the suspension protect Zaddy he needed stitches"
