Yea, I’ve loved what I’ve seen from D-Petey in a very small sample, but I don’t see any reason to throw him in full time based on a handful of games. Off season makes way more sense, and still only if it’s a good deal. I don’t see Soucy as a cap dump yet
Well they wouldn’t be, Forbort is here too. Ultimately I think what they’re projecting is, they’re likely willing to move off of Soucy’s contract, but probably not looking to dump him, yet.

Cog? He has been arguably our worst Dman this year given his role.
I'm not exaggerating when I say he's been the direct result of at least 1 goal in pretty much every game this season.

He can't move the puck, he can't defend or produce points and takes dumb penalty after dumb penalty.

Juulson has also been very bad but Soucy has played a lot more.

I'm not one of those negative type posters and usually I defend this team to a fault but my God Soucy is giving me PTSD.
Anyone who tries to defend him is clearly high on drugs like lol.

It sucks because he was so good last season.

The games I watched him this year he wasn't that bad. Desharnais has been horrible for the Canucks this year.

Flames offer you Barrie for Soucy.

Let him stay on the bottom pair. 3.25 is not great for what he brings currently, but it's small potatoes overall, and if you just let him settle into the bottom pair you'll start to see that he brings his value up as opposed to down. He's the kind of guy (albeit at a higher cap hit) that true contenders have on their bottom pair anyway. Much like we lost sight (in my opinion) of the overall value Cole brought last year because of a bad playoffs, we've lost sight of what Soucy was able to do last year when he was more properly in line with his abilities, he was a call even keel presence, and his time missed to injury was actually quite missed.

-Has a Full NTC.

vs

-Is available?

Seems a little confusing and contradictory.

He's not having a good season, but i don't really see the need to move him, unless they're actually getting something useful back for him anyway.

If Rutherford signs you as a free agent there’s a 75% chance you are gone within 15 months.

Zero actual interest in moving him. He’s depth. DPetey has looked great in all of his two games so far. Stupid media dying for clicks now the Miller/Ep40 drama is dead.

He'll fetch a small return, and I'm fine with that. Was very solid in the top 4 last year but for whatever reason he can't defend worth shit this year. With EP2 looking legit, and Forbort being fine for a 4lhd, I'm good with just getting rid of his contract. Some GM will bite, and move a mid-late pick for him

Now bring in Mancini for Juulsen!

Would be very shortsighted to move Soucy. DPetey has been great but if the Canucks are serious about making the playoffs then, under no circumstances, should they be an injury away from icing Juulsen. Not to mention you'd be selling Soucy at his absolute minimum return. Personally, I'm okay with them foregoing the season at which point selling Soucy (and likely Boeser) is fine.

Yea.… They have zero interest in moving him. It’s a dumb comment from someone with nothing else to talk about.

If Nucks are actually going to try to make the playoffs and any damage if they get there, moving depth like this doesn't help that cause at all. Does the small little owner dude agree with this?

Feel like Vancouver is going to have to pay to move him out. Can't see anyone wanting him with an additional year left.
Worst case they move him in the off-season. Of the 19 teams he could get moved to, likely to find someone who needs a Dman on a short term deal.
