I think it's tough swapping in a cold goalie in the playoffs, especially when it's a winnable 1-2 goal game. Don't really blame the coach, but it's obvious it's Ned next game.

As bad as Mrazek has been today, to me, it's partially on the Canes' offense. Ned didn't deserve to ever lose the job, but he did because Canes couldn't score in front of him, and it was purely a "shake things up/get a spark" change. Now Carolina can score 4 goals, but they wish they had Ned in goal. A little too late.

I don’t believe for second Ned would’ve done much better in this game. They’re burying some wide open chances.

Could Ned have stopped the last one? Maybe. Would Ned have only given up 1 in the first? Maybe.

They are up against a fully operational battle station today. Go down a man too many times and they will make you pay.

Mrazek didn’t deserve to lose the job in the first place but he was hurt and people get hot. We over rate Ned and under rate Pete.

I haven’t seen one Ned would’ve stopped yet. Especially the last one. We’re the only fan base I’ve seen blame their own goalie for a two on one well executed by the leagues former leading scorer.

this is the first time I've felt honestly embarrassed of an effort in a long time from this team. really bad timing.

they got screwed by refs but no bounce back.

and I don't often come at Rod but I really think leaving Petr in there was crazy.

I'll accept any miracles, of course, but I'm not seeing it.

just brutal.

Forwards are just not helping backcheck or play D this game. Way too many 3v2s and forwards just stuck behind the play through the neutral zone.

With the chances Carolina was giving up Mrazek would have to be making spectacular saves to keep it tied or 'Canes lead. It'd be great if he could make the difference when the defence couldn't, a shame he can't. But it's not as if they're soft goals.

Repeat of Game 4 against Boston last year. Everything going well, then one thing goes wrong and it’s full on Titanic. It’s unfortunately a pattern at this point, this team doesn’t handle adversity well against elite opposition.
Boom.

I would argue we couldn’t overcome a couple of injuries. We have more depth than last year, but obviously not enough. Now we’re counting on Aho and TT to save us again. Didn’t work last year. Svech and Necas are what remains of the new depth and......derp.

I think Petr had to be better and he looked completely demorazlied by the end of the 2nd .

that being said, THE ENTIRE TEAM had to be better, so it is what it is

Lol, what? Didn't Ned lead the league in save % and GAA? It was a two on one five hole shot from a mile away because Mrazek was cheating on the shot side. Whatever goal the glove save bobble was Ned definitely saves. Why are we making excuses for Mrazek allowing six but didn't when Ned allowed two?

Giving away this game was inexcusable, and that's what it was... flat out giving it to your opponent. And I am so sick and tired of watching them be lazy with the puck and piss away opportunities... I'd like to think carolina will win game 5, but I highly doubt it. This is a backbreaker to lose a game you should have won and lose it in the way they did.

Take this beating and learn from it. Canes are paying their dues right now. Not on Tampa’s or Boston’s level of consistency yet.
We haven't learned a thing the last 2 beatdowns, and I don't see them learning anything from this either especially when Rod says we're playing fine, our front office thinks the team is fine as currently constructed, and what not. But who knows, maybe 3rd time is a charm.
