Ignoring the new sarcastic rocky, this loss wasn't that bad.
Ward's injury definitely threw a kink in the gears in terms of the game plan. You could tell after the injury, plus the two quick goals against Peters, the team was "off" in the first period. And to Minnesota's credit, they took advantage of that.
Obviously, something was said in the locker room during the intermission because the team had a much better second and third. The difference was that while the Wild took advantage of Ward's injury, the Canes couldn't take advantage of Harding's. Start of the third, on the PP, with a cold goalie? Must score situation there.
But in the end, there are two teams on the ice, and one has shown (at this point in time) a defense that the Canes offense couldn't overcome.
