Post-Series Talk: Carolina Hurricanes defeat New Jersey Devils 4-1

I don't think anyone is really scared of Caps/Toronto. FLA is the scariest but how many teams make it there 3 in a row? Canes best chance is here. Just gotta hope LAK/STL or someone odd comes out of the west. I don't think they'd beat DAL/COL/WPG if we assume one of those made the final, if they do that they're probably playing really well and are just a step above

I think the Canes would have even odds against Washington. I think they’d get swept again by Florida. But if Toronto can make it… Toronto/Carolina would be quite the ECF.

Verhaeghe and Tkachuk have been real invisible as has Kucharov and Point. Til that changes I don't think anyone is a likely easy win in a series for those two

Canes ripped jim nill apart on that mikko deal. Stank 2 first round picks plus 2 3rds . Highway robbery with butter on the toast. Stank is outplaying mikko right now too. Unreal.

Younger, cheaper, more intense, probably better defensively down the stretch. And two firsts, lol.

Probably a better locker room presence to boot.

I actually thought it was kind of a fun series to watch, despite so many people saying it would be a boring series before it started.
Canes are always fun to watch in the 1st round.
After that…well, I’d be surprised if they’d play any Tkachuk.

This reads like sour grapes
For sure a bit.

But watching the other series.. it's hard to find a team in the East save maybe Montreal that I think wouldn't absolutely beat the piss out of this Devils team right now. I'm surprised they kept up with Carolina as well as they did.

Then again, they're the first team out so maybe it wasn't as close as I'm stating it to be.

I don't know where NJ goes from here. Need a better goalie and a few other pieces. One thing is for sure, it won't get any easier as CBJ/NYR you figure are at least gonna be factors or better next year.

Good fight by the Devils. Games were much better than Ottawa-Toronto which has been mostly boring af.

I wonder if we’ll see Nikishin next round? Or Andersen for that matter?

Is NJD a failed rebuild at this point ? You'd think with all their great players they would be able to at least win more than one game. I know Hughes is injured but still... Hard to see them compete in the near future.
No chance this is failed. Still very young and well put together especially with this years additions.

I think Jersey is fine for next year. I know Columbus is a hot pick to take someone's spot but I don't think it's a healthy Devils team.

Bye bye shmevils!
