Why not just scratch Komi and put murph on the 4th line and PP. Makes no sense... Where are our points from the defense come from??

That's what I was thinking too. It's not as if Murphy was the only one who had an abysmal game in his own end against the Ducks. Faulk and Sekara both had bad turnovers.

If Murphy was put on the 4th line he'd probably break out offensively and turn into Jeff Skinner 2.0.

Murphy doesn't play the kind of game that translates to wing. On defense he gets the space and time to take advantage of his skating skill, and he has a nice instinct for cutting back on forecheckers. Wingers don't get that time and space; they definitely don't get to skate the puck 50 feet before encountering real pressure.

The reason Komisarek went to wing is that he was essentially being a Westgarth-lite. Apparently Muller is ok throwing a roster spot to the wind like that.

Our defense will not lack size tonight! Slick move by Muller, I think. Give the kid a day off, and load up on size against a physical opponent.

Although, on Muprhy's behalf, he seems to do quite well in the physical spots that he engages in.

No kidding! When is the last time the Canes iced such a big Defense? It will be interesting to see how they do.
