Harry.. do something like that in the second period smh.. Clearly targeting as well. Idiot.

I usually piss all over Harrison, but I don't even think he made contact with his head. Looked to me like he elbowed him in the shoulder, which I guess is a probably a penalty anyway? I don't know.

On the multiple replays ,his arm hit the chin I think. I'll take another look.

I don't think it's suspension..it wasn't vicious and AP27 isn't hurt by the play.

Still should sit Monday or Komi.. Just get Murphy back in there.

Gerbe and Malhotra are the only forwards I like now. I'll like Dvorak when he returns. I hate all the rest.

I forgot Monday is vs the Bruins...are the canes ever gonna play a team under .500?

More to the point…

Thus far, the Canes have had the toughest schedule, not only in the Metro division and EC, but the entire league as well, if you look at Winning Percentage of Opponents of Played Games. Fortunately, the SOS is the lowest in the league from this point forward. However, as What The Faulk alluded to, it will be a little while before it gets better. 20 points in the first 20 games is a pretty solid start, when you look at it like that (even ignoring injuries).

Team looked tired. Hope they rest up and get healthy as the endless barrage of top teams continues.

When Tripp Tracy says "I wish we reacted to that big hit", because you look like a bunch of ******* if you don't.....and you don't.....youre a bunch of *******.

I've often struggled with this. I know we aren't tough and puffing your chest doesn't make you tough. Still. Your stud expensive goal scorer gets run over and hurt, someone should at least look angry and use harsh language. Even Tripp Tracy thinks so.

I think if Tripp calls you out your man card may need to be turned in.

Some of that can be chalked up to those teams winning their games against the Canes :sarcasm:

What are you supposed to say? "Stop hitting our guys! Let them skate by with their heads down, you *******s!" I mean, what could you possibly say that wouldn't come off as completely ridiculous?

What Harrison did (minus the elbow) is the appropriate response. Actually, doing that BEFORE it becomes a matter of retaliation is ideal. This is professional hockey, you are supposed to blow people up when they hold the puck too long.

I don't disagree, semin has it coming. Still, someone has to step up and get in the guys face. Give him a shove. "Grumble grumble". Honestly if it was most teams it would've been a brawl. I just want someone to say "hey man, that's not called for!!!", and skate away looking sour. That would be improvement for us.

I know we aren't the bruins, but what would they do if it had been krejci?

Ps Harrison's actions were nice and all, but were actual very poorly timed and WAY too late.

Literally no one saw Semin get hit. Eric pretty much admitted that postgame. If I turned around and saw my linemate lying face down, guaranteed I'm ****ing someone up. In the moment, I don't care if it was clean or not.

Team was well overdue for a stinker. Better to have it happen on the backend of a back to back against a Western team than some other options.

Of course, every other Metro team won, so there's that

Yeah, I don't mind a loss at St. Louis during the away end of a back to back, both against Western teams.

And Justin Peters has a .921 save percentage after starting 10 games. I'll take it. And I just check the stats on team GAA. We're 16th in goals against per game, despite Justin ****ing Peters starting half the games. Considering the teams we've played, and the defense we've iced, I'm pretty content with how well this team has done so far.

Now if EStaal can just take his head out of his butt, this team may actually go somewhere.

I find it hard to believe that Staal didn't see Semin get lit up considering he had to step over his lifeless body on the way back up the ice. The NHL doesn't like those hits on guys coming around the back of the net regardless of where they're located. It's a vulnerable spot. Not that you shouldn't be protecting yourself out there, but that was a run with intent to do some damage. Just a poor reaction from the team overall and a boneheaded decision by Harrison to attempt to exact a toll when the game was still in the balance and there was no time to kill a minor penalty.

The decision to sit Murphy baffles me. I think they were looking at this game like it would be slower paced and more trapping, but you're not going to beat Hitchcock at Hitchcock. His guys are built for this kind of game. Two way beef all over that lineup. Instead, we went "conservative" and messed with the mojo. There's no accounting for how fragile that balance can be sometimes.

And I know he deserves a chance, but for the love of everything holy get Komisarek out of the lineup if we have to shift him at forward. What kind of idiocy is that? If ANY of our defense belongs at forward, it would be Ryan Murphy but that move would be detrimental to his development. Why not just call up a forward? Maybe one of those guys producing in Charlotte can jumpstart some offense. Keeping Komisarek in the lineup for what? To enforce? He clearly didn't get the memo if that was what he was there to do. Mueller going to the 4th line after Semin got creamed was a pretty clear "if you're going to do it, do it now". Nobody did it. But apparently Harrison was lying in wait. Biding his time. Makes no sense.

Worst attempt at a powerplay I've ever witnessed in 28+ years of watching hockey.

I hope Gleason for Murphy was a one game move. Shocking news-break, Gleason still can't skate!
