Canes have the offensive weapons to compete with anyone, good balance among the top 9, and Freddie has been great.
Early in the season with a lot of new faces, but the Canes need to significantly cut down on defensive breakdowns/ turnovers. It seemed more glaring last night. We’ve gotten away with it so far because of a combination of Freddie bailing us out and playing 4 teams that aren’t really high end in terms of scoring skill.
the next two games, that changes. Leafs are struggling, but Matthews, Nylander, and Taveras are high skill scorers. Then it’s Boston’s top line after that.
A good time to clean that up. Can’t ask for a better start though.
