Would a package including Barrie, Kassian + work?

Barrie has played better since the coaching change, but we've got Bouchard ready to take the mantle and we need a more defensive presence on the right side.

Kassian is the prototypical Bruin. Mean, nasty, aggressive. He's got speed. He needs a change of scenery though.

Salaries are pretty much a wash here.

Barrie + Kassian lol. Does that even get Carlo alone?
Hell No, Not even close. Kassian is a negative value.

 Unless that + is massive, There's no freaking way you're getting Carlo+DeBrusk for Barrie and Kassian

Dont like Barrie but dont like Carlo and JDB aswell.

Really wanted to take a shot at Puljujärvi last offseason but idk, he just kind of skates around with his mouth open.

Picks/prospects, sure. I dont mind Bruins tanking.

Something around a Puljujarvi + Barrie for DeBrusk and Carlo would be closer to fair.

Has Carlo been that bad? Or just injured a lot?

I’m asking because I legitimately don’t remember him in any game between the Sabres and Bruins this year.
He's been not very good this season. Had a few concussions the past few years also. Still think he can bounce back to what he looked like before the concussions.

But he's not a guy you're gonna notice out there which is good for the type of player he is.

I know he’s not someone you’d normally notice. I just mean like I didn’t even hear his name said at all, both good or bad.

But that’s not good about him getting concussed.

Pretty awful and I'm an Oilers fan. We'd need to entice the Bs with something better than that. Maybe RNH? He could slide into the 2C spot between Bergeron and Coyle, plus has chemistry with Hall from the old days.

Edmonton might as well. They need to move Barrie and Kassian for futures to get cap space fora goalie, not trade for other players with an equal cap hit.
Lol. What team would be stupid enough to trade valuable cap space and picks for Kassian? He’s got negative value.

Barrie probably carries no value. So Barrie to Arizona for a 39 year old AHL 3rd string goalie may work for Arizona. It’s definitely a win for Edmonton.

I just assume RNH NMC makes it a non starter, but that would open up some interesting possibilities. Frankly, a lot depends on Bergeron’s status beyond this season.

That's why I think RNH could make some sense. He'd have a year or two to refine his defensive game behind Bergeron while bringing legitimate offense to the table. By no means is he going to be a Bergeron replacement, but maybe more this Bruin team's version of Krejci.

As for his NMC I think Boston is a place he'd waive to. He'd have Hall to talk him into it like I mentioned, plus it's a big American market with a lot of things Edmonton can't offer. He's also been here 10 years, so I have to think he'd welcome a change... especially if the team flames out in the first round again.

How good is Carlo? Is he a reliable Top 4 d-man? I honestly don't know / haven't followed the Bruins.

I could see a forward swap from Vancouver.

Kassian has basically no value at his current cap hit with 2 more years left. Barrie still has some value to teams looking for more offense from the back end, but I bet he sticks around through his contract. The Oilers would probably have to part with draft picks or quality prospects to ship both out together, and it doesn't really make sense for a team still looking to compete to pick up Kassian.
