Yeah. It is quite maddening. In Sweden it is up until 3 weeks for a verdict. Which I thought was undurable... This is insane. Yupp, it was almost all held in person. 4 witnesses (minor) were virtual. The other 9 were in person. But no others were allowed in the Courtroom due to COVID. Only Plaintiffs (2), Defendents (3), lawyers (4). the judge (1) and a Courtroom assistant. Plus witnesses one by one. No jury. no journalists, no spectators... a pity actually. In the higher courts - after likely appeal(s), there are 3 judges and then 5. Hopefully the COVID restrictions are lighter then as well

Bench trial with the judge deciding the facts? In the States, bench trial verdicts can take a while depending on the judge's docket.

The legal system here apparently denotes one judge as a lone ruler in the district court. In the regional court, there are 3 judges. In the Supreme Court - there are 5. No jury.
I just received a message from my lawyer(s) that there will be no decision given today. For whatever reason, the Judge has not prepared the verdict yet. She has not stated when this will be remedied either. They have NEVER seen this happen before, but it might be COVID related... This is a big case here yet with total media blackout. Going totally mad now... top shelf here we go

Just received information that my Court ruling will be made public on January 8th, a full 24 days after the statue of limitations for such a ruling (52 days after final trial date). Almost 4 years after it began. Whoppeee!

Want to wish you the best of luck and hope you win. Sounds like you've been through hell and back. Keep your head up and no matter what happens on January 8 keep moving forward and never, ever give up hope.

So I had an interview for a role I'm excited for, for an interesting company. It was a phone screen and he scheduled second round during the interview. This is the second time it happened. Has that happened to anyone else before? Is it just an efficiency thing and HR guy has the power to do that? Is it something that happens often? Is it possible they do that with everyone? Then what's the point of an HR screen?

I would say it depends. HR has been the first layer after online applications. Hiring managers have been the first layer through LinkedIn applications or headhunters.

I discovered today that one of the follies of working from home is that they no longer give a f*** about the weather.

Granted, nobody comes in the first day and I spent four hours on HF but that's beside the point. I have to be in the virtual office for my tutoring hours just like I would have to be in the real office and they don't care that it's snowing.

I just now finished shoveling, just in time for the game.

Makes no difference to me. Before COVID, I worked from home on snow days.

I had final round with a company. I was supposed to have 6 zoom interviews. The second one went almost half the allotted time and I thought that was weird. Then when the third interview was supposed to take place I got connected to a recruiter and she said she spoke with the first two interviewers and it won't work out. So it got cut short, 2 interviews in. I've never heard of this happening. I feel like I got completely slapped in the face.

Politely/diplomatically ask the recruiter for feedback. This type of info will really help you as you become a better candidate somewhere else.

With that info in hand, consider yourself lucky for saving what could of been multiple sets of add'l interviews with this firm. Your time has value so better that it is spent elsewhere.

I did ask for feedback and she said she's can't give it right now but will next week. I'll follow up next week if I don't hear anything midweek. I'll be honest I probably would have preferred to finish the interviews and get the rejection later today. It's less embarrassing. That said, I'm glad they didn't wait to give me the rejection on Monday. That would have been a painful two days.

Civil service exams: Fed/State/City/Local are good insurance policy for people getting into or back into the job market.

Covid f***ed up alot of budgets so itll be tougher but all you do is take a test for a position you qualify for, and wait to get called.

Business sucks for everyone right now.

Only advice I can offer is that you build something that revolves around covid.

It sucks to be the case and I'm working 4x the amount of hours for a quarter of the pay but you have to do what you have to do.

That's all I have to say..

Any craft beer enthusiasts here, I need some research participants to sort a bunch of beer for me for a project I’m working on for a craft beer store.

You’ll see a bunch of beers listed by brewery, name, state/country, ABV, style, format and you just sort them in whatever way you would classify them. If you’re interested in helping out it should only take 10-15 minutes (average is 13:48 so far). Link is here:

So I tallied my application since August 17th, 323 total. Still looking, though I'm getting interviews and the last two weeks I have sent out over 70. I think I'll get more interviews from those. I'm also now trying to work with recruiters.

300 is a lot, what industry? Do you have prior experience? It did take me probably around 100 to get my first job, but I'm so lucky I got that job and not the other previous ones, because it was at a company I was actually interested in. Probably it showed in the interview that I really cared and that's probably how I won them over in the end. Keep your head up man!
