It’s amazing anyone could be worse than Eric Staal, but there it is.

What's amazing is how limited Skinner's skillset really is. PP, OT, Shootout, all "skill" things that he is quite probably a detriment when on-ice, but ES he's a monster.

If he ever gets to a team that will actually make the playoffs people will start ranting about what an awesome playoff warrior he is.

How is that possible?

volume shooters do terrible in this format. it's usually the guys with quick hands that have better luck. the shootout requires either a super deceptive release or getting the goalie moving laterally. eric staal was terrible for the same reason. glide in at half speed and fire blocker side every single time and hope it works.

How can you have a career shooting percentage of 11.2%, but you can only shoot at a 5% rate with just you and the goalie?

What kind of message was he trying to send though? Lindy was probably the best player on the ice this game and Ryan was one of the worst.

I can understand not putting Aho, TT, Skinner out there. No way our best option was Ryan.

I don't think he was our best option at all, nor am I defending the action, I just think the rationale was he wanted to put guys out there he felt were giving the most effort. apparently those were his choices.

Looking at the SO list, Jordan has never taken one. Jay McClememt and Nordstrom have. Brody Sutter has. I know Jordan is super limited offensively but shit, send the man once.

Terrible shootout decisions aside,

It's another game where we put up a high number of shots and produced very little from it. More importantly, any chances we did create often we're blocked or sent wide.

Someone needs to learn how to finish on this team. Consistently finish.

He plays McGinn and Ryan like he's their father who abandoned them as children, and now he's trying to make up for it.

I just don’t think his choice had anything to do with who he thought played well. If they did, he’s worse at his job than I thought.

I don’t have a problem with McGinn because there is precedent. Maybe Ryan schools everyone in practice, IDK. I just want him off the team last week.
