Confirmed Trade: [CAR/NSH] Mark Jankowski for 2025 fifth round

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I have always been a fan of Jankowski since he was on the Flames. I always felt he was a player that is super cheap but you could get some decent value out of him in your lineup. He is a guy I kind of wanted the Oilers to sign for really cheap depth. Then again, maybe I have not watched him enough the last number of years to know any better also.

A bit of underrated business is Janks is making nearly league min salary ($800k vs $775k) next year to be a 4C for us. Jack Drury was making $1.725M. Granted, we don't need the extra space as we have like $37M in space for next year.

In Jankowski's 7 games with 6 goals with the Canes, he's only taken 8 shots. This has to be one of the highest shooting percentages in a 7 game stretch for any modern day Hurricane. His shot selection and placement would be giving him a decent amount of goals, but I'd still think he's a 20G scorer for the year in an absolute best case scenario. I could see him plausibly pricing himself out of Canes land after having a fine year next year.
