I think the wear and tear of the season is starting to get to them. The past 10 games, we've had some real ugly periods, if not entire games.

I'm hoping they can muster it up for the remaining games, but I think it'll get worse before they (hopefully) find a second wind in the playoffs

The guys just played a 4 in 6 are going to get one day off then play a B2b. I wouldn’t doubt the dudes would be tired and super sloppy. I don’t think the two Dallas games will be our best games either.

Hopefully we can get some other players back

Yup. That pretty much sums it up.

Maybe the worst game we played all year. We scored 3 goals but at 5 on 5 we were garbage. Lazy, coasting, no fight. Team just didn’t care and Ned let in some bad goals to cancel out his good ones.

Credit to the Panthers as they worked hard, adapted and forechecked like hell.

Embarrasing as that game should have been over at 3-1. Pick your tiny dicks up off the floor and get back at it on Monday.
I mean, the 3rd period was bad but you could tell they were absolutely gassed from 4 in 6 on this trip. I'd still put the Detroit home games above that by a f***ing mile in terms of lazy hockey.

Not to make excuses but again, we're down to about 14 reliable skaters in the lineup (9F, 5D) with Bean being benched for whatever reason. If we can get through the Dallas series without reducing that further we're in good shape heading in to the playoffs.

NOT TO MENTION WE MUST BE DAMN THANKFUL FOR LORENTZ BEING AS CONSISTENT AS HE IS.

BUT YEAH, WE ARE DOWN A LINE A 4TH D-MAN (3RD IN TERMS OF PK) AND A GOALIE.

On SiriusNHL this past week, they said some teams may get almost 2 weeks off from season's end to the start of the playoffs. If so, that could be a godsend for getting our injured back. It would be like a whole new team for us and our opponents which could go either way I suppose.
Yep, I heard upward of 2 weeks since there's a bit of schedule shuffling that has had to go on, mostly with the Canucks but also somewhat with the West as well. The Central was lucky that we got our Covid crap out of the way as early in the season as we did collectively.

Lost in the complaining about last night's games is the fact that a really banged up Canes team playing 4 games in 6 days against the top 2 teams they are fighting with for the conference managed to gain a point on both
Yeah, I'm not gonna sweat this one at all. They played like shit for most of the night, and still managed to salvage a point out of it. They also played most of the night with 9 forwards and 5 defensemen. Shore and McCormick COMBINED for less than 8 minutes of icetime. Ryan played around 10.

Florida is a good team. We took 3 out of 4 points in their barn, and still lead the division (and are in contention for the President's Trophy*). They're gonna lose from time to time, ain't no shame in it. Just gotta move on and do better next time.

IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. TEAMS DESERVE TO BE RESTED AND FANS DESERVE TO SEE THE BEST POSSIBLE LINEUPS.

That last loss to Detroit was the worst I've seen this team look in years. Last night isn't even close to that same level.

Common theme... They were both the last game of a decent road trip.

I'm not hung up at all on this loss. We accomplished our goal for the road trip on Friday night (at least an even split of both series, preferably edging forward in each)

We now have a points lead on both Tampa and Florida with games in hand on each. They have no more 4 point swings against us because our season series with each is over. A strong showing against Dallas and Chicago for us coming up could have Florida and Tampa scheming to load balance and rest for the upcoming series against each other, conceding the division to us.

I mean home ice is on the line for the Florida-Tampa series regardless, I fully expect the two teams to try to absolutely beat the living f*** out of each other regardless of if we've clinched or not.

I guess we all should be happy with 3 of 4 points in Florida with a flat tire and no spare. I still question putting Svetch out there in stead of a more experienced and dependable 2 way guy.

And despite that, it was Trocheck who went Leroy Jenkins, not Svech.

If anything, I’d expect Trocheck to not be overly aggressive with Svech out there.

Trocheck was also blatantly tripped with no call. In reality we should have been on a 4 on 3 power play immediately, but those refs were not great those 2 games in FLL
