I can' even listen to that podcast anymore with him on it. been ages. He is so annoying. He is insulting peoples intelligence.
I never listen to the parts when he's on. His dumb voice and cocky voice just ruin it. Even Rishaug almost got into a fight with him over an issue on scoring. Even Dubnyk yesterday disagreed with his stupidity

By strength of schedule, technically Tampa/FLA/EDM have the "easiest" schedule left

It's never easy when Moustache man is in net

Its been time to look for a goalie for a long, long time.
I will give them a tiny bit of credit. They were trying last year. They can't judge talent in a vacuum though. Binnington rumors. Jake Allen.

Then EDM goes on a streak and it's all good. They just stop looking instead of trying to make the team better overall. Like Mustachio is the one who was the key to it lol

Friedman says reaves will get less than 5 games. Don't even think it's an in person hearing

Absolutely mind-boggling and pathetic

This is where punishment has to change. You have probably the most useless player in the league doing what he does, and every game he misses is a bonus for the Leafs, as they can dress an actual hockey player in his place. When the player is an obvious goon who plays less than 10 minutes a night and basically has zero points, the suspension should be an increase in his minutes played per night, to around 17-18. Make it for around 10 games, and it’s likely the last we see of the guy in the league. No team wants to risk taking on that kind of a suspension.

Skinners play so far this year combined with the complete lack of defensive awareness/effort from the rest of the team puts us in a really bad position.
We’ve already left a bunch of points on the table and if we don’t improve we will leave a bunch more.
I don’t think it’s time to panic yet as we are still in the thick of things in the west, but panic time is approaching

I wish the oilers defense was more aware to give up zero high danger chances so skinner didn’t suck so bad

See more of the same, kiddo this isn't clever
Don’t worry.

Kevy99999 will be here soon enough

Bouchard still had a good game tonight. While he was on the ice scoring chances were 15-5 for the Oilers. High danger chances were 4-3. The Oilers had 2 total HD chances against in the 3rd period and let in 2 goals against.
Very weird evaluation of a players game, whoever determined those results do not consider of the players he was playing with. No one that watched the game can conclude that Bouch's play tilted the ice in our favor. I'm very tough on Bouch and that was one of his worse efforts as an Oiler.

The problem with this is assuming every high danger chance is exactly the same. If Nylander gets a nice tip goal you can accept it, but those two Bouchard gaffes are inexcusable.
No- that’s not what’s happening. That’s you not understanding the metrics. Lets assume you are correct- then the same metric is applied to everyone across the league and removes that assumption that only good players get good chances only against the Oilers.

Second, that second goal. If you listen to Rishaug’s podcast, he had Dubnyk on. Dubnyk, on the second goal, said Bouchard made the right play. He knew he wasnt catching McMann- so he looked around and “assessed” what happens next- take any guy following up. Dubnyk said Skinner was at fault. He was indecisive, and thus, became a pylon that McMann just skated around.

Revisiting your first part again about high danger chances- Stu’s Goals saved above expected is 42nd in the league. That takes into account the shooter, the distance, the quality of shot.

Hollands decision to sign Jack Campbell and run with him as the starter is what started the goalie mess. The team is still paying for it.

Sure, Bowman and Jackson had a multitude of options available to them this summer (like the guy who just beat us) and chose to go with Skinner, so they own this too.

Bowman and Jackson had little to no cap space to bring in a better than average goalie.

Lets not forget management traded down, passing on Wallstedt to take Bourgault because of what they thought they had in Skinner as well.

That is something that could realistically hurt the team for a decade if Wallstedt hits his ceiling.
