Sometimes guys are just a better fit at the higher levels. Can't say you see it too often with goalies but it is what it is. A guy like Ned that's so reliant on his ability to move the puck, it kinda makes sense why he's having better fortune at the NHL level where he can move the puck to guys like Pesce, Hamilton, and Slavin, rather than guys like Robertson, Carrick, and Renouf.
Even so, though, Ned was a very good AHL goalie, particularly the last couple of seasons. He was one of those goalies with really high SV% above expectation, not dissimilar to Mrazek, that made their GAA somewhat misleading.
