For me, I guess this season has shown that PBP guys are mostly an afterthought. I haven't been even slightly aggravated by Maniscalco like some people have. I usually get more aggravated by Tripp assigning blame to the wrong people just because they aren't his boys yet.

Florida did get a goal called back by a quick whistle in the first. Canes broadcast didn’t make much of it, I’m sure if it was us getting it taken off the board Tripp would’ve talked about it quite a bit.

They've been too busy yacking all game about trivial stuff and missing half the play on the ice.

Tripp is definitely a personality but he lets his biases cloud his judgment at times, especially when it comes to our own players. That annoys me sometimes. I definitely miss John but his absence doesn't ruin the game for me in any way, even while Mike basically learns on the job.

I don’t know how this season will end up, or how we’ll look back on these games. Maybe we’ll view them as the early stage of a golden age, or maybe we’ll remember them as the lead up to disappointment, or maybe they’ll be a curiosity of the pandemic era, or maybe we’ll barely remember them at all.

But I know one thing for certain. DECADES from now, we’ll still be talking about that time our broadcast’s main presenting sponsor was a fly-by-night Viagra outlet.
