The Haula hate is less about his play here, which was more than fine overall, though once he came back from injury he started to get pissy about playtime. It’s more the attitude once he was traded and his subsequent shenanigans in the playoffs against Nashville.

I have no hate towards Haula but find the whole thing entertaining. He tried his best and wanted more ice time.

The only thing that I have a problem with Rantanen for is his effort with the team. All the posturing and eventual signing decisions, that’s all business and rights he’s earned. The fact that he didn’t even pretend to try to be a good rental player to help the team that gave up major assets to get him is f***ing bullshit. Tlusky is being made to look like a fool for not knowing he was trading for a guy who didn’t give a shit about winning another cup this year - how the hell is he supposed to anticipate that?

It's such low character horsehit to say you'd be interested in signing an extension with a team leading to a trade and then immediately becoming a lockerroom cancer to force your way out of town. That's the kind of selfish behavior that potentially f***s over dozens of players both here and in Colorado, and now if you're Dallas you have to wonder how long it'll be before he gets sulky baby bitch mopey there.

still hoping the first round picks never end up in a Canes uniform until they hit UFA. That's a ton of draft capital that we should be spending for immediate and semi-long term roster upgrades ASAP, especially since the picks are 2 and 4 drafts out respectively.

I actually had no issue with how the Rantanen saga played out until he revealed he made the decision not to re-sign a week ago. If that’s the case, and he still took to the last minute to sign a new deal with Dallas, thus preventing Carolina from making other deals at the deadline…then f*** him.

They could have talked to him first. I'm guessing they didn't because they're trying to be clever and pay rental prices for an extended guy. Almost worked for Guentzel, didn't it. If that's the case I don't think that's coming from Tulsky.

But if the guys response to getting traded to a place he doesn't want to be is to sulk and half-ass it, then yes, screw him, get him off the team. Good bye.
