Meh. I think there was some good in the game. Staal line kinda blows at the moment. PP blows at the moment. Another softy that hopefully they get out of their system. And then a miscommunication on a pass in OT leads to the end. But honestly, 3 on 3 will always be a crapshoot. Next game will be interesting given the state of the opponent.

Burns sure looked good in the preseason against AHLers.
I think the team is trying to figure out how the new guys work and vice versa, such as the bad miscommunication on the Burns pass right before the OT goal. There are miscommunications like that frequently right now (like Burns trying to guide Necas the other night on the odd man rush and it didn't work). They'll figure those things out.

No, he sucks and if you don't say he sucks I question your hockey intelligence. I don't have any myself but still.

I only saw the play live, but it looked like the player he was passing to went a direction as he was making the pass he didn't anticipate. And even so, it's 3 on 3. Shit happens.
Yeah, I think it was Aho who decided to swoop back, and it caught him off guard. But Burns is a terrible old fart, didn't you get the memo?

TDA has a goal and 5 points in 5 games. Burns is hopefully finding his way on a new team.
I enjoyed TDA while he was here, and rooting that he can keep it together, but if/when the Flyers start to string a bunch of losses together this season I wouldn't be shocked to see bad Tony come out.

Also, we can make excuses all we want, but the fact of the matter is the team was up 2-0 early, let off the gas, let Calgary come back, and then had 6 minutes of power play time in the 3rd period of a tied game.

A team that wants to compete for the Stanley Cup finds a way to win that game.

Yeah, I'm gonna just go out on a limb and say every team that's competed for the Cup like ever has lost a game like that.

If you think for a moment this team has had 3 PP different primary QBs in 3 seasons, no such person on the 2nd PP and Jeff Daniels (i guess?) as our Power Play coach our PP really isn't that bad.

Obviously. It's not meant to be taken literally. It was more "A team that wants to compete for the Cup needs to put forth a better showing than they did tonight"

TDA contributed right away last year and never stopped. I know, I know - Im a TDA fanboi and that just GRINDS some here. I think he might be one of the best PMD passers in the league right now (when it comes to his offensive side) - and we let him go when we basically found his RFA rights on the ground outside of a NY subway entrance, and instead decided to keep the lemon car we bought for 1.25 mil over MSRP that sits in the shop because it's a piece of shit, and no dealer will take it in on trade.
And that grinds the absolute shit out of me. It's one of the dumbest moves I've ever seen us make in the off season. You could have still had your 37 year old defenseman that was elite 5 years ago, and kept TDA. But you traded his rights for nothing. And yeah, as a person I like Burns. As a player, he is NOT showing what we needed on the PP, we still have no PP2 QB and he's no better than TDA defensively.

What we should have done is released the Bear into the woods, kept TDA as the pp1 QB, and made Burns pp2 QB. You could have found the 1.5M somewhere to do that. It's not hard.

Don't make excuses for Burns. If TDA would have made the same mistake(S) last year he would have been crucified and burned on the stake with a pile of firewood made from " I TOLD YOU SO's" at his feet. We f***ed up. I hope it works out, but Burns looks old and slow so far. Sorry, he does.
