F***ing hell the east is a nuclear arms race this year.
what I find hilarious is Florida helping out their eastern rival in canes

I hope for Domi’s sake he doesn’t check this thread just to find out people care more about bbq than him.
Well, he might be put in the third line, so low price, I think, is good for Carolina.Good luck to Max. Was hoping we'd get more of a 2nd-round caliber, but who knows, maybe this small young d-man will be just what the doctor ordered.
Who knows. When I thought it was Kekalainen acquiring him I thought he might have some inside knowledge about Korshkov moving over to North America. I suppose it's possible Zito does but it seems more like a lottery ticket. That means he might never come to NA?
That's good. I'm thinking he could be a Dadonov 2.0.Who knows. When I thought it was Kekalainen acquiring him I thought he might have some inside knowledge about Korshkov moving over to North America. I suppose it's possible Zito does but it seems more like a lottery ticket.
His contract is up in the KHL, so he could come over to North America next season.
Florida definitely seems to have lost this one.One of the worst trades I’ve ever seen, from a CBJ perspective.
CBJ is paying half of Domi’s salary and gave away a 6th rounder for a marginal at best D prospect.Florida definitely seems to have lost this one.

Yikes. Carolina won from both teams.CBJ is paying half of Domi’s salary and gave away a 6th rounder for a marginal at best D prospect.
Maybe because of character? I don't have a basis; I'm just speculating. What is it with Domi and him being tossed from team to team like a football on the beach?

More likely because he’s bad at defense and has been moved between teams that prioritize it. I question how well he’ll do with us for that reason. I suspect he will have a very short leash with Rod given the time of year.Maybe because of character? I don't have a basis; I'm just speculating.
Yes, he really is terrible in the back zone, although if he can produce greatly for the team, that minor weakness can be forgotten.More likely because he’s bad at defense and has been moved between teams that prioritize it. Not likely on our team.Yes, he really is terrible in the back zone, although if he can produce greatly for the team, that minor weakness can be forgotten.
That's unfortunate. Not likely on our team.
Ah gotcha.I don’t think any Carolina fans know much about him. The Canes picked up Galchenyuk as part of another deal and flipped him to Toronto for Korshkov in 2021.
To my knowledge Korshkov hasn’t left Russia since, so we haven’t had much opportunity to have a take on him other than KHL highlights.
Actually the Panthers have a pretty decent Russian scout, Podrozov I think is his last name, responsible for Denisenko, Mamin, and goalie prospect Kirill Gerasimyuk looks somewhat promising. Vladislav Lukashevich was a universally liked pick last draft but it seems he's struggled with injuries this season. Although he did go in the 4th and probably would have been picked up soon by somebody anyway.Who knows. Its very possible he ends up in Rods doghouse but at the same time how many players on the Canes "were not good in the D end"? I trust Rod he has earned it. Im sure he signed off on any trade and if he did I have no issue letting him "mold" Domi into the player he wants him to be.Not likely on our team.
He's not really either of those. He's still young and productive.
Well the good news is he’s well down the list of players Brind’Amour will play at C:He's not a C.
Swing and a miss. And he's not that productive.
Meh. In 107 games in Columbus he had only 18 goals and 56 points. He doesn't hit or block shots with any regularity. His minutes have decreased in each of last 3 seasons. He's 27 so not like he is gonna get much better. He's just not very good. Heck, Florida thought so little of him they helped rival Carolina get him and got almost nothing because they apparently wanted him on Canes!Swing and a miss.
Domi has one of the highest primary assist rates in the league (A1/60 5v5)
His 2.29 P/60 is also topline quality. I don't know how many guys you expect to rack up 50 pts from the third line without top PP time.
It was a 3 team trade where it was always understood that Domi was going to the Canes. He wasn't traded to Florida for anything but cap purposes.Meh.
