Captain Appreciation

I like this guy. He isn't the type of captain that will hype up the team in the locker room, but he leads by example. That speaks volumes.

Callahan has developed his game over the seasons. I've said it a few times, but I think it bears repeating. His judgement is better, he's learned how to be more effective. He ditched that unsuccessful breakaway/shootout move where goalies just stoned him, and now seems to actually be reading and seeing what the goalie might be giving him.

And all that heart. Great player.

???

More often than not, he does the same move on any breakaway: The kick fake, double deke and wrapping it around the goalie's outstretched pad. That's not a criticism, mind you, as this move seems to work very well for him.

I don't know how much better his judgement is (I think it's been pretty stellar ever since he came back from Hartford during his first full season), but he has gotten more confident with the puck. He shows flashes of skill more and more, while rarely sacrificing his elite game away from the puck.

Cally is probably one of the best captains out there. He hits. Plays and scores and it seems like everyone likes him. They are motivated by his lead by example.

Well, he did go top shelf earlier this season, but yeah, his signature move is the one you describe above.

I wish that Callahan could switch to his off wing and play LW. I think that would better serve the Rangers need for acquiring one.

Being a righty myself, I've never felt comfortable playing the RW. Always prefered having my stick blade on the inside of the rink as opposed to the blade along the wall. Allowed for better shooting angles and made it easier to shoot off the pass be that a wrister/snap shot or a one-timer.

But that's just me

Best compliment I could give Cally is that Mark Messier would be proud of him as Captain

Who was it that was saying that Dubsinsky won more games for this team than Cally and that Cally isnt really captain material??

LOL

Talk about eating crow. Hes choking on 4 or 5 of them that are stuffed in his gob.

That 2nd goal was gorgeous.

That would be the one and only Kershaw.
