I think that felt worse than it really was because its the Caps and Tom Wilson.

They actually played a pretty good back and forth those first two periods before looking like a team playing its 3rd game in 4 nights and getting worked in the 3rd.

Nice to get a point. Not the end of the world.

First 5 and last 20 were yuck but the middle was good (no-one cares about OT).
You can see that we are short a top D-man and a top-6 forward against the better teams.
I know they got the 1st goal, and Panarin was at least trying a few things, but Laf-Tro-Panarin is basically useless right now

You guys were right, instead of passing and causing a 2 on 1, Zibanejad should have shot that right into Strome's stick and caused a 2 on 1.

I've been very critical of Zibanejad but when you're memeing, you're memeing.

The constant passive regrouping in the OT wasn’t working, completely unable to generate anything. These same players have been deadly in OT in the past, not sure why they’ve been so so so bad this year but I guess it just goes along with everything else.

In OT particularly, Jones should’ve passed to mika on his chance, he would’ve had a wide open net. I can’t fault Mika on that pass at the end, that was a millisecond away from being a tap in for Miller and in real time it looked like Mika was about to shoot but Strome closed him off so he pivoted out to the right and tried to make that pass. I guess he could’ve tried to peel off and keep possession.

I’m more annoyed at that pass on the GWG getting through both Schneider and Mika who got back in time he could’ve blocked the pass. Not sure why Schneider is laying down like that in that situation.

Leading going into the third and losing in OT after playing a pretty spirited game is a huge back breaker. Would’ve been a momentum builder for the group. Instead it’s a deflating loss that knocks them out of their playoff spot. Needed the extra point. Moral victories and points while losing in OT would’ve been nice a couple months ago but they need wins now. A game you’re leading going into the third needs to be a win.

Hated Igor’s poke attempt on Ovi’s goal. If Igor just stays square to that puck in position he would’ve swallowed that shot up, only reason it had any daylight was he poked out and exposed his 6 hole badly. If youre going to poke out like that you sure a shit better get the puck bc when you don’t you’re giving too much net to the player.

Or curl back and maintain possession like 95 percent of the players in the league do today. This still shot shows Carlson didn't "come out of nowhere" like you claiming in the gdt, Mika made a 100 percent hope play and it blew up on the team.
