You guys were right, instead of passing and causing a 2 on 1, Zibanejad should have shot that right into Strome's stick and caused a 2 on 1.

I've been very critical of Zibanejad but when you're memeing, you're memeing.

Yea. 2 on 1s happen in OT. If you're a defenseman, you shouldn't be allowed on the ice in OT if you can't play a 2 on 1 correctly. Force that guy to shoot the puck from the side. That so pisses me off.

He had no intention of trying to beat Strome, going around him. Let's not kid ourselves. This is not 2019 Zibanejad who drove to the net. He does the leg kick and forces himself into a shot or pass situation. Meanwhile Miller is in the middle of a dogfight with his man. It was not a 2 on 1 play.

have you missed that skilled nhl players get good shots off when there is a defender between them and the goalie? has it entirely eluded you? "using the defender as a screen," its called. It can be extremely effective at disguising the release. Glad to help out

Hated Igor’s poke attempt on Ovi’s goal. If Igor just stays square to that puck in position he would’ve swallowed that shot up, only reason it had any daylight was he poked out and exposed his 6 hole badly.

They really lost on the brutal power plays including flubbing a double minor.

And if the shot goes off Strome and it's a 3 on 1, he's damned for that too.

It's 3 on 3 hockey. You can't create offense without allowing an odd man rush. That's why they're usually boring.

The leg kick is his way to think he's fooling the goalie but all it does at this point is ensure Mika has no other play. He has no power on that leg kick so it's either a backdoor pass or he tries to sneak it under the goalie with a tricky shot. When it works people get excited but it's as high danger now a days as a rock nash shot from the half wall...
