In my book it's not even a loss. Both teams tied, Wild just a smidge better in the skills competition. Fleury has always been a good goalie in the shootout.

Wild are just as good a road team as we are.

Cap next bunch of games against much lesser opponents. A good opportunity to rack up points with wins.

This loss is on Chuckie. Stop giving him charity starts and go with LT.

I’m OK with the rotation because we all know Chucky isn’t starting in the playoffs unless LT gets hurt. Gotta keep both goalies fresh.

Also, goalies are streaky. Chucky could be playing like ass now and be lights out in April.

I get the desire to go to Thompson more frequently but I think the groove he's in is worth some oopsies from Lindgren.

It's clear Thompson is the #1. Down the stretch and in the playoffs he's the guy. But easing his workload so he's performing well now and fresh later seems like the winning ticket. Lindgren needs to just stop making silly mistakes.

You’re playing one of the best teams in the league, you play your best. Charlie could play against the Rangers on Saturday.

You could do 2:1 ratio, where LT starts every 2 to Lindgren's 1.

What happens when you play several good teams or several bad teams in a row? The way they have it is fine, Caps are 1st in the East.

Even Minnys beat writer was surprised the Caps struggled against the Wild tonight given who they were missing.

I didn’t think the Caps struggled at all, they had the better of the play in regulation and OT.

Sure. I’m talking about tonight and Saturday. You can adjust the rotation based upon the upcoming schedule.

Twabby, did my eyes deceive me?

I have to disagree with it strongly. Your playoff goalie could end up playing a full 7 games in a series. Regular season is there for the go to starter to play a good streak of consecutive starts. I would like to see what LT can do in the regular season with 5 straight starts(for example). He has by far the best win% per starts of any goalie in the league. LT has the hot hand right now and they should run with it.

I now move to 0-3-2 on the season when I see them live, and my dad goes to 0-3-3. It was sweet of Charlie to do a Fleury impression in honor of Fleury’s last (regulation) game in DC, but I wish he’d just sent him flowers or something.

Could have gotten better goaltending from Lindgren(specials teams was solid as Lindgren was the only blunder in that regard), but still got a point. Moved us 2 pts up on the Devils, plus we still have 3 games on hand against them! We are also 5 pts clear of the Canes and the top team in the Atlantic.

Entertaining game. Still think we have looked a bit choppy lately. Getting good dirty goals but missing some of those beautiful goals we had 15-20 games ago. But I’ll take dirty goals when the pretty isn’t working.

On Goalies: At some point you want to give the 1a a bit more of the split. Gonna need two goalies and don’t want long stretches but ocassional 2-3 game runs work.
