GDT: caPs vs caTs, 3-22

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

15 seconds in the period up 3 and Sandin is trying to add to his highlight reel Thought they had coached that out of him

I've been seeing this argument lately on the main boards that the Caps' playoff chances aren't strong because "Strome-Dubois doesn't look like winning center depth" or something like that, so I thought about it for a minute...

and then I realized they're both third overall picks, so it's not even like there's zero pedigree or reason to trust the development there and it's just HF doing that "everything will be this way forever" thing with players

Fast moving period. Other than a couple of bad decisions on the puck from Chychrun they've really tightened up since the start of the second on D.

watching defensemen deal with net-front Ovechkin and having one hell of a time at it is hilarious.

we all know he's a bull but the way they try shoving him around has this energy of "you could do this the whole time? were we lucky to not look like children?"

Overall, a very solid performance. A few weak points in period one, but that can be excused considering they didn't have problems putting the puck in the net.

My game puck goes to Rasmus Sandin for a stout defensive effort including a team high 19:54 at 5v5, a nifty assist, and a well-earned +4 rating.

HMs go to PLD, CMM, Tom Wilson, and John Carlson.
