I'm feeling confident for tomorrow night:

I’d like to see more guys bully their way to the front of the net (like Ovi in OT). The Habs D coverage is questionable at times. Monty has been a big reason for the Habs’ success, but he was leaving a lot of loose change last nite.

And, there were lots of times where we’d win a puck battle behind the net, but no one was cutting to the slot. Give that guy some options - bully their D.

I heard a stat that during the season the Habs were the 3rd worst team in the league in giving up high danger chances. Caps forwards have big bodies, so definitely go to net more. Either the Habs correct that, which then opens up other areas in the offensive zone. But basically you keep doing it until they can stop it.

Isn't Chychrun-Roy one of our worst pairings? I wonder what the fancy stats say.

I agree Chychrun-Carlson isn't ideal. I'd be fine sticking with what has proven to work:

Sandin-Carlson
Chychrun-TVR
AA-Roy

Also, Roy shouldn't be playing 26 minutes. Roll the pairings.

Oddly enough, if you drop down the TOI filter AA and TVR have been our best pair.

Agree 100%. There were so many missed second-chance opportunities last night. More traffic. More chaos. Fewer flybys and less fancy play. Forecheck, shots, hits, rebound chances.

Caps announce Fehervary is out for the playoffs after meniscus surgery. Brutal. Reminds me of when Kempny went down in 2019 and the defensive pairs were all discombobulated after that.

Hopefully they trust AA and give him minutes. I just don’t see Chyrchrun-Carlson as being your shutdown pairing or the pair you throw on the ice to protect a lead late in the game.
It’s gonna be 74 plus someone…..I just don’t know if 6 is a guy who can excel there, and that’s what concerned me most about his contract.

It’s one game, we’ll see.

Habs' fans (and mods) are soft.

Posted a little joke on the mains about the officiating and they deleted my post. Whatever.
Yep happened to me as well. And it's a one way street. They've said a bunch of crap and gotten away with it.

Oh well - we all know by now that the mains is a crap fest
