Cristall's performance is pretty eye-popping so far. As someone who hasn't seen him play or know much about prospects, how should we read into this? what do we think he could become at the NHL level? Or is it just a product of not being able to go to the AHL and being too good for his league?

I only watch his highlights, but did watch him in the preseason - he was one of our best forwards.

His play is certainly better than last year, due to improved skating and strength. They *really* worked on his skating this summer, and it’s been a major factor in his numbers.

I also DO think he’s too good for his league, and should absolutely be in Hershey.

And Sikora for the Czechs.

No, not THAT Petr Sykora.

The other one! 😂😂

The other other one.

Leonard and Hutson named to the preliminary US roster, of course.

Back to Canada I'm surprised by the lack of Misa/Ravensbergen and so many early '24 first rounders. Bodes pretty well for both Caps vying for spots you'd think.

yeah, he is much better but also this is his 4th season in CHL due to dumb rules. He has outgrown so kinda expect him to dominate. But what he is doing is beyond that and he should definitely be on this team. Might get snubbed because Canada hates the Caps.

In terms of the selection as a proxy for the NHL. Doesn’t work that way especially for an older player. Some will make it and some won’t. But he is an exciting talent but a lot of work on in terms of strength and two-way game. His skating definitely improved.
