He is big too at 6’5 210 or so. maybe he can be another Protas 3rd round gem!Really stood out to me in camp. He scores a lot of goals in the paint. He might be somebody to watch in a few years.

He stinks?Leonard off the score sheet tonight. What is going on with him?
Who said he stinks? I’ve watched now 4 of his games this year and he has been ok in each game I’ve had the opportunity to see.He stinks?
Let’s add him to our complaint list?
Sure? And it’s ok for me to reply to it?Who said he stinks? I’ve watched now 4 of his games this year and he has been ok in each game I’ve had the opportunity to see.
I think it’s OK to ask folks why they think his numbers are down this year, no?
Terasak with a goal.
Cristall with 2+2.
Not sure if Terasak is an intentional combo or an impressive misspelling. Either way, Terik has figured something out with 5+6 in his last 5 games after a slowish start.Terasak with a goal.

Plus, Leonard's start really isn't that slow compared to last year, maybe down a point. He's always been the engine of the line from the defensive and forechecking perspective, and lagged behind a bit on points. He's hit a ton of posts already, so I expect his numbers to increase as he gets used to playing with Hagens.Sure? And it’s ok for me to reply to it?
To state for the record, I have not watched U of Minn, and don't really know a ton about NCAA hockey beyond the top teams and our prospects. But I've seen it pointed out elsewhere that Chesley racked up points against bad teams, not that there's anything really wrong with that. 6 of his 7 points (4 goals and 2 assists) came in 3 games against Air Force Academy and University of St Thomas. Not sure if Terasak is an intentional combo or an impressive misspelling. Cristall leads the WHL in a wide margin by points per game (2.857 compared to 1.813 in second). Terik has climbed his way into the top 15 point scorers overall and is 11th in PPG.
Since we've talked about Leonard's slow start quite a bit, how about Nick Kempf holding a 2.39/.927 sv% in his first three games at Notre Dame (getting about 40% of the starts). Augustine is the sure team USA WJC starter but Kempf has a decent shot to make the roster as 2nd or 3rd goaltender.
Does anyone watch U of Minn closely? Chesley with an insane 7 points in 8 games to start the year (previous totals 10/8 in prior full seasons).
Of course. I just find it odd that you would think I’m saying he suck’s because I’m asking why he might be struggling thus far.Sure? And it’s ok for me to reply to it?
Sorry — you generally are pretty negative about the team (at least for the last few years +), so I figured it was just another thing to complain about for you.Of course. I just find it odd that you would think I’m saying he suck’s because I’m asking why he might be struggling thus far.
Appreciate it. It was a legitimate point of discussion.Sorry — you generally are pretty negative about the team (at least for the last few years +), so I figured it was just another thing to complain about for you.
If I was wrong, I apologize
Too bad we mortgaged our future for the record.
Chelsey has never been that offensively oriented since NTDP where he was forced to be in more of a defensive role to offset other offensive Dee (Lane Hudson). It’s not out of the question that he can develop that. If he does, he could be an NHL 2-way defenseman. He’s very good defensively, but today’s game has to go both ways.To state for the record, I have not watched U of Minn, and don't really know a ton about NCAA hockey beyond the top teams and our prospects. Cristall have been fantastic for Kelowna after he came back. 20 points in 7 games. Kelowna where 1-5-0 without him and never scored more than 3 goals. With Cristall they are 4-2-1and have 5,7 goals per game in that period. Also very close those losses (Both 6-5) so while they are still last they are playing like a playoff team with Cristall.I think the NCAA rules changing are generally going to be bad for players (and especially Americans) but man it sure would've been helpful to have them changed going into this season for our top prospects. Cristall especially ... just nothing for him to do in the CHL anymore
Also from my very limited viewings of Kelowna highlights -- Tij Iginla owes Cristall big time
Absolutely brutal decision for American kids. I get why the NCAA couldn't wait but it really feels like there needs to be an NHL-mediated discussion/transfer agreement/rewriting of rules between the NCAA, CHL, and USHLNCAA makes CHL players eligible for Division I
The NCAA Division I council voted to make Canadian Hockey League players eligible in 2025, which could reshape the landscape of college and major junior hockey.www.espn.com
Why is it bad? Better players in the game is always good.Absolutely brutal decision for American kids. I get why the NCAA couldn't wait but it really feels like there needs to be an NHL-mediated discussion/transfer agreement/rewriting of rules between the NCAA, CHL, and USHL
American kids will be forced to leave home earlier, go further (probably to the CHL), and enter college even later if they want to play D1 (and honestly probably D3 as well). Why is it bad? Better players in the game is always good.
Most schools are club hockey anyways. Like all of them in our area
Yea, agree with you on all points. As a result of this change, I do hope we eventually see more schools have D-1 programs. If there are more options, American kids won’t be squeezed out quite as much.American kids will be forced to leave home earlier, go further (probably to the CHL), and enter college even later if they want to play D1 (and honestly probably D3 as well).
A better development model for top NHL prospects? Sure. Will NCAA hockey be even better than it already is? Absolutely. Good in general for the entire structure of youth and junior hockey, and the wellbeing of the kids playing there? 1000% no
Damn will be interesting to see how this plays out. It does say that if they a player did sign with an NHL club they would be ineligible.NCAA makes CHL players eligible for Division I
