Terasak with a goal.

Cristall with 2+2.
Not sure if Terasak is an intentional combo or an impressive misspelling. Either way, Terik has figured something out with 5+6 in his last 5 games after a slowish start.

Cristall leads the WHL in a wide margin by points per game (2.857 compared to 1.813 in second). Terik has climbed his way into the top 15 point scorers overall and is 11th in PPG.

Since we've talked about Leonard's slow start quite a bit, how about Nick Kempf holding a 2.39/.927 sv% in his first three games at Notre Dame (getting about 40% of the starts). Augustine is the sure team USA WJC starter but Kempf has a decent shot to make the roster as 2nd or 3rd goaltender.

Does anyone watch U of Minn closely? Chesley with an insane 7 points in 8 games to start the year (previous totals 10/8 in prior full seasons).

Sure? And it’s ok for me to reply to it?
Plus, Leonard's start really isn't that slow compared to last year, maybe down a point. He's always been the engine of the line from the defensive and forechecking perspective, and lagged behind a bit on points. He's hit a ton of posts already, so I expect his numbers to increase as he gets used to playing with Hagens.

To state for the record, I have not watched U of Minn, and don't really know a ton about NCAA hockey beyond the top teams and our prospects. But I've seen it pointed out elsewhere that Chesley racked up points against bad teams, not that there's anything really wrong with that. 6 of his 7 points (4 goals and 2 assists) came in 3 games against Air Force Academy and University of St Thomas.

Re: Cristall, I'm not sure I can reasonably expect a player to hit 2 points per game, much less 3. But, apropos nothing whatsoever, a 2.85 PPG season would be the 2nd highest in WHL history (assuming minimum 40 points.) It will be interesting to see his pace as the year progresses.

Of course. I just find it odd that you would think I’m saying he suck’s because I’m asking why he might be struggling thus far.
Sorry — you generally are pretty negative about the team (at least for the last few years +), so I figured it was just another thing to complain about for you.

If I was wrong, I apologize

I think the NCAA rules changing are generally going to be bad for players (and especially Americans) but man it sure would've been helpful to have them changed going into this season for our top prospects. Cristall especially ... just nothing for him to do in the CHL anymore

Also from my very limited viewings of Kelowna highlights -- Tij Iginla owes Cristall big time

Chelsey has never been that offensively oriented since NTDP where he was forced to be in more of a defensive role to offset other offensive Dee (Lane Hudson). It’s not out of the question that he can develop that. If he does, he could be an NHL 2-way defenseman. He’s very good defensively, but today’s game has to go both ways.

Cristall have been fantastic for Kelowna after he came back. 20 points in 7 games. Kelowna where 1-5-0 without him and never scored more than 3 goals. With Cristall they are 4-2-1and have 5,7 goals per game in that period. Also very close those losses (Both 6-5) so while they are still last they are playing like a playoff team with Cristall.
