Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Hey could have been a lot lot lot more points in the standings if they won more than they lost in overtime so that's another way of looking at it.

Thinkin about points and loser points and the relative merit of 7th worst itl vs 9th worst itl seems stressful and pointless. I recommend focusing more on the development of existing young roster players who were high picks over the fear of getting Alex Newhook instead of Kirby Dach.

I'd be ok picking 10th+ if I wasn't certain that in 4 years we lose the Cup to the Kings and Hughes has 3 OT winners. You know this is a very "Ranger" future.

Wonder if Winnipeg fans were crushed in 2011 they got Mark Scheifele at 7 instead of tanking better and getting Ryan Strome at 5.

I mean, that's an exemption to the rule and of course I'd rather pick top 5, but are Hughes and/or Kakko really generational can't miss talents? I don't think so. I bet there will be players in this draft that will end up being as good if not better than those two in a couple of years

Totally hear what you're saying and you're right. The development of the younger players is more important. The top 1/2 pick was fools gold anyway. Just don't wanna drop out of 9/10.
Surgery was successful and less than 4 weeks now. And if Dallas can get into playoffs I can see Dallas win two rounds for sure - they have a good defense, and experience to do some havoc in the Western division!
He tried to fake out Holtby and Holtby didn't bite. It's only a "weak attempt" if it fails, if it succeeds then he looks awesome because he juked Holtby out of his jock etc etc
Those kind of plays you're not trying to "shoot" the puck past the goalie you're trying to get them out of position enough to just slide the puck in the net

I don't have a particular issue with Strome. No he's not the greatest skater and he shouldn't be a 2C but there's no one else right now that's better. For a $3.1 mil cap hit he's about right and IMO he's a hell of a lot better player than Spooner. Strome at least competes. He's signed through next year and hopefully someone is ready to supplant him by the next trade deadline but we have a few guys like that.
As far as today--we weren't terrible bad but kind of lucky to come out of it with a point. I like Georgiev. Arguably he's been our best goalie for the last month. I think he could be a legit NHL No. 1 goaltender. For some reason he's not as good at the AHL level but he's got the goods---and pretty much he kept us in this one all the way.

Yeah Wild won over Flames on the road - their 10th win or something - I don`t like it, but those moves was crucial for them so it seems.
Honestly the problem is tha tsure those guys will be coming in but when does it all "come together" for a real run? That's kid of how you get stuck in a perpetual rebuild is if your young guys are always just coming in but it's not timed well with good vets and impact players contributing at the same time.
I dunno, I guess I'm saying I wouldn't rely on Miller, Keane, Lundkvist and rookies to be major impact guys right out of hte gate. We need players like DeAngelo and Hajek and Rykov or whatever to be actually legit GOOD and contributing players in 2 years if we want this team to be going anywhere in that time frame
The deke was fine, but you still need something on the 'slide' with how quickly NHL goalies can react
