Pionk isn't a kid kid though, he's 23 not 19/20. He's actually younger than TDA. I haven't written him off completely yet, but I do not think he will ever be a contributor in the NHL. He just doesn't have it IMO.

DeAngelo has been kicking around the NHL and AHL for a while now though. Pionk is 2 years removed from College hockey, he needs time. I'm not comparing the two because I do think DeAngelo is better but Pionk is still learning to be a pro.

That’s a fair point on Pionk, but he’s older than DeAngelo. I believe Pionk has the potential to be a #4 d-man, but if he develops into a very good bottom pairing defenseman, it would be a win for us.
