I just watched a TON of Kryou and Tuch highlight vids on YT. One thing about both guys, 1000x more so than CMM, is they are snipers with wicked fast releases that are deadly accurate, scoring goals from all over the place. CMM on the other hand just seemed like a solid garbage man, collecting junk around the net, an occasional breakaway, but no snipe in his arsenal.

And to the point that Tuch doesn't create his own offense as much these days, he knows where to be to get open, and he can bury it when the pass arrives. Kyrou makes his own offense plenty. Both these guys are going to make our scoring woes a thing of the past. The top 6 might not have a McDavid or Kucherov, but it has a lot of size, grit, speed and sniping. Carbs will have to find the right mix, but he's finally got 6 top six guys, and no longer stuck trying to justify first line Beauvy.

This team is going to be fun as hell to watch.

We haven’t given up a real top prospect or our other 1st rd pick… and in 48 hrs we added Kyrou and Tuch and lose McMichael (talking NHL roster only sense).

That’s what you call a massive improvement.

Other teams are going to really, really hate seeing Washington on their schedule now. A big powerful team that is now even more skilled/improved.

A+ job by front office. Now that they locked in SC long-term as head coach it really seems he has a playing style/way he wants a roster to be (big, strong, and fast) - and the front office seems to be wasting no time giving this head coach what he wants.

It’s nice being a fan of a team that cares/tries to win.

We are instantly better in the shootout, which I didn't really care about until last season.

Where? Gotta have one line to lock it down when needed and Cristall ain't contributing to that line.
Just be cause the 4th line is the worst line doesn't mean it would be the best at shutting it down. Wilson and protas and now tuch could usually find them out there late in the game.

This post made me want to run through a wall. LFG!

I still wonder a bit about the playmaking side of things. They'll need Strome to bounce back and also for Ilya Protas and Hutson to really pop. If those two do, yeah, look out.
I’m usually not confident in rookies - but Ilya and Hutson are two guys I think are almost locks of being really good players instantly. Theyre special I think.

I think having PLD healthy should help too. Dowd and Sourdif as our 2 and 3C wasn't a recipe for an offensive outburst.

I think Cristall gets another full season in Hershey but can actually see call up time when guys inevitably get hurt, and then will be in line to take a full time spot once Ovechkin retires.

Although I think he's coming back, I am kinda hoping he retires. Carbs just has to bend his deployments into a pretzel to accommodate him. First defensive zone start came in the last game of the season or something. We've replaced his goals, but his defensive liability is not going to magically go away.

Well, the Caps have been lacking in zone entries and scoring off the rush, which both Tuch and Kyrou are (supposedly) excellent at. Assuming that's accurate, I'd say that's a pretty significant improvement for the offense.

Not that everything is about the Canes. But trying to score off the rush always seems like the best counter to their aggressive forecheck. Punish them for aggressive pinches, and push the pace through the NZ and get some odd man rushes. We saw Vegas do this to great effect early in SCF with those stretch passes.

It can certainly be risky having guys ready to fly the zone, and push in general, but the - “throw it up the wall and turn it over again” strategy - we tend to employ against them, hasn’t been working. I’d rather they go down swinging on the counter attack.

I wonder what the PP units will look like next year. Both new guys are righties.

PLD
Ovie-Tuch-Leno
Hutson

Strome
Kyrou-Wilson-Lil Pro
Chychrun

A lot of options.

This. And FWIW, I think we’re gonna see some lunacy on July 1 that will make Tuch’s deal look just fine.

I think they're going to be a really good team next year, almost night and day to what we saw most of this year with the stagnant play, lack of depth, and lack of talent.

Somewhere between the 5th and 10th best teams in the league.

Besides top4 RD my only roster concern at this point is the 4th line. Would they run Beau-Sourdif-Frank? Are there no ginders here? No one who can fight? I also feel bad for Sourdif if his ice time isn't what it should be. There's a real middle six player there

So excited about this add. I think we can work all the righties in if we move Lenny to left. Two top six speedy two way forwards.

It’s not bad to let Cristall cook in Hershey. We need players there that can come up. I’d resign Leason for Hershey on one-way deal to keep him.

We don’t have roster space for Frank, Miro, and Trineyev. I think Miro and Frank both can catch a second or third. Only trade 1. And I’d resign Lappy because we need a 5C as 13.
