Agreed on TVR - I think Thompson and Lindgren both stink, but they're cheap, so it's fine.
Sammy stunk, these guys are better than that…come on….decent enough cheap platoon IMO….

I tell you what, Sammy and Vanny I would be hand wringing over goaltending heading into a playoff series…..the two we have now are plucky…gamers….they wiill rise and fall at times…

I think saying they stink is a wild exaggeration.
Thompson has been pretty good, and Lindgren has been average. Stink is not even in the conversation.

Having said that, the perception is likely because of how much the NHL average save percentage has dropped over the past decade. Coming out of the 04-05 lockout, the average save percentage was .901% in 05-06. The number increased from there, year-over-year, until it peaked in 14-15 and 15-16 at .915% (and again, that is the average). And it has steadily decreased since:

22-23 .904%
23-24 .903%
24-25* .901% [*prorated, of course]

Lindgren's .897 feels quite a bit below average when in reality it's only a shade below average and Thompson's .911 feels average when it's actually solidly above.

Look how near identical WSH/CAR's numbers are, just flip Home/Away record and it's practically same

I don't think any publicly available goalie stats are even worth talking about. There are too many external variables outside of the goalie's control that go into sv%, GAA, GSAA, all other related stats. They're much better as team defense stats.

It's all #eyetest for me. I don't think we've had an actually good goalie since Holtby. I also don't think there are many good goalies out there in general. Again, that's fine, because the tandem we've got is dirt cheap.

2nd time ive seen this rumor. Like why would we want him? 20 goal scorer last season and might be a buy low I guess.

Of the Nucks games I’ve seen, I really like Hoglander. He’s scrappy and hardworking - good finisher around the net. I think he’d be a great fit with Eller. Decent value for a young middle 6er that has scored 20 goals.

Still not sure what they’d want from us. No way would I want to send them TvR. If they need a RHD so bad - lets give them back Ethan Bear! Lol. I guess Mangiapane makes sense if they want future cap flexibility. Don’t see Tocchet being interested in Milano.

It’s probably the same rumour, just in different sites. They all cling to the same news.

That said, this would be SUCH a GMCP/GMBM type pick up. Young player w chops in a cheap deal that has somehow gone sour.

And isn’t he like 1.4m now? This year? Or did I read that wrong?

Send Milano and a future and let’s GOOO

Im not sure LW is where we should be looking to add and at 3m. If Mangi isnt in the plans next season I could see a 1 for 1 trade being floated.

Just saw @hockeykicker suggest Sonny. That makes more sense
3W looks to be the only “weakness” in the lineup right now. Simply because no one has stepped up to claim it between Milano/Vrana/Lapierre. So I admire them making a move for someone to shore that up.

I think it’s 1.1 this year

I'm not sure I see the fit given the extension. Weren't we just arguing about how Leonard is going to be in the NHL next year, and I have to imagine Miro will be too? Plus, Cristall nearly made the team out of camp last year. And their best prospect outside of those three is another winger (Parascak).

If you assume that Ovechkin, Wilson, Protas, and McMichael are the other top 9 wingers, where does Hoglander fit beyond 24-25?

Did you miss Lindgren’s play last season?

But also, yea, Holtby is missed.

There’s 8 winger spots. I don’t view Raddyish and Duhaime as elite 4th liners whose spots are locked down.

No way in hell are all three of Lenny, Miro, and Cristall in the line up full time next year.
