Is it crazy to say our window is open again because of Strome, Protas and McMichael?

Especially since Strome and Protas are signed very cheap medium term.
I'm not ready to go there yet. Would like to see Protas and McMichael keep this up over a full season first. I also think that as always Carlson's extremely good play has been lost in the start of this season. Tough to have a new window open when there's no one in the system that can replicate what he does

Lots of teams struggling in the East, most thought it was going to be
FLA/TOR/TBL/BOS
NYR/NJD/CAR
as the Top 7 with
NYI/OTT/PIT fighting for the WC2

now:
WSH 10gp 16pts
TOR 11gp 12p
BOS 12gp 11p
NJD 14gp 16p
NYI 11gp 10p
OTT 11gp 12p
PIT 13gp 11p

NYI just got hit w/more injuries (Barzal/Pelech both 4-6 wks)

obv lots to like so far from Caps perspective, blowing points early is going to cost a cpl of these teams
Not me I called the top 7 teams 2 days after free agency and bumped the post last week

He’s kinda be flying under the radar due to other performances but TVR has really impressed as well.
yup, he's been asked to cover a lot of min.s with the D injuries so far

at this point it's much easier to list everyone who hasn't impressed, yes?
Lapi - prob his best gm so far last night, but that's not saying much
Milano - limited action, not much yet
Vrana - cpl good games, not much tho
Lindgren - last gm v CAR was best so far, has been just OK so far

I don't think I can really complain about much rn (PP1 I guess ;) )

I do think Lapierre has looked better since returning to the lineup. Still needs to be better, but seems like the break suited him.

If you drop Leonard into the 3rd line for the playoffs and they're healthy that is a wagon

Good late era show at the old Cap Center, 3/15/1990. Video starts at 3:30

That “easy to love you” brings a tear to my eye. Brent only had 4 months left at that point

Gotta be just about the best Brent pic out there, save for some of the great looks Jerry & he would throw each other onstage; a sharp contrast to the 7-23-1990 vid where you can see him doing something quite illegal right before the show started

I’ve always been a huge Brent fan - just love his style, and the way he and Jerry played off one another. Most of my friends, however, hate his synths, lol.

Anyways, that’s a beautiful pic. I wish the Caps would just sell their Dead shirts to the public one of these years.

Same year my metal band, Silence, opened up for Pantera on the Cowboys from Hell tour at the Bayou in Georgetown.

I don't think my brain was ever wired right to the whole Greatful Dead and related genres to ever appreciate the music unfortunately (along with raggae, ska, country pop). Also had a bit of the straight edge hard core thing in me even though I was on the metal side.

7-23-90 was his last show with the band. He ODed 3 days later

Damn, you’re my hero, lol. I once met Dimebag Darrell at a Burger King before one of their shows at Nissan Pavilion.

We were kinda nervous and whispering by the entrance, and he looked at us and shouted, “hey! if I saw Eddie Van Halen at a BK, I’d f***ing say hi to him!” As a guitar nerd, that cracked me up. He was really cool and signed a bunch of stuff for me and my friends. RIP Dime.
