Lots of teams struggling in the East, most thought it was going to be
FLA/TOR/TBL/BOS
NYR/NJD/CAR
as the Top 7 with
NYI/OTT/PIT fighting for the WC2

now:
WSH 10gp 16pts
TOR 11gp 12p
BOS 12gp 11p
NJD 14gp 16p
NYI 11gp 10p
OTT 11gp 12p
PIT 13gp 11p

NYI just got hit w/more injuries (Barzal/Pelech both 4-6 wks)

obv lots to like so far from Caps perspective, blowing points early is going to cost a cpl of these teams

I know winning in general helps, but it’s really awesome to see the team consistently having fun again. Between the goal celebrations and the locker room stuff, night and day compared to the last few years.

Also it’s wild having 5 of 6 of your top 6 forwards 6’3 or taller and they all have the ability to make passes and score. However the season goes, this is the best hockey they’ve played in a long time.

PLD's line is generally playing against the other teams top lines.
Caps have had what, 3-4 shorties already this season? So I would wager he’s picked some up there.

And they’ve given up a few as well, so that may be some of the minus’ he’s gotten.

Just surmising here, I could be totally wrong

If we beat the Canes tonight I'm going to make a main board bragging thread
No we are guaranteed to lose 🤪

Has McIlrath played well enough that he gets claimed when they try to send him back to Hershey once everyone’s healthy?

So wait, linemates don't do this on a regular basis??? WTH??
Yup, I'm confused too. Isn't this standard practice? There was an article in Athletic last year that described how advanced the Capitals video stuff was, and now we learn that they don't even watch the tape with the players?

On thing I did like about the caps play in the Dzone was they didn't panic on extended Nash possession shifts where they never got beat off the wall to create a good scoring chance.

I don't think that's what's being said. I read this as these players are doing extra, independent film study.
