And while we’re talking about breakaway moves, I remember listening to a TJ Oshie interview.

He said he would train by looking at his reflection in the glass and that’s how he got his hands so good. This was probably before we had cameras everywhere.

Can we get back to Protas with Strome and Ovie? McMichael back with Dubois and Wilson? Ovie and Strome need the extra puck retrieval, etc.... Wilson and Dubois need McMichael's speed and hands. Or am I nuts.

Yeah they need to try this again.

I'd even be open to trying Dubois with Ovie:

Ovechkin-Dubois-Protas
McMichael-Strome-Wilson

The current top line isn't working. A lot of it is Strome just needing to be better, but I also think they need to change things up. Ovechkin isn't a battle winner any more, but PLD and Protas sure are.

We’re teaching the kids breakaway moves. I can’t believe they don’t do the Peter Bondra move anymore. That move was unstoppable. The kids today are too fancy.

When he would slam on the brakes, he would absolutely freeze the goalie and give him a wide open net almost every time
man I feel like I can picture it, but not quite....

PLD has looked really good lately, I agree with that top line experiment

I could see it as a temporary thing to kickstart Mikey a bit, have him handle the puck more, but not long term. I agree with trying Ovechkin with PLD.
