Even more evidence this team needs an injection of elite talent. Doesn’t look good for the “we need to wait to make moves” crowd lolBuckle up…
Next 5 years is going to be rough!
After some time away, I tried to catch up but too much repetition/regurgitation.-“Make the deal, you doofus!!”
-“How could you make THAT deal, you doofus!!!”
He’s just a very large human.
doesn't look that fat I guess
Barely a pec in sight! Lol….

I don’t think that’s Kuz.He’s just a very large human.
I see Kuz … and is that MaxPac???? Or are my eyes fooling me?
You’re probably right. Looks like him, but hair is too dark..I don’t think that’s Kuz.
Definitely not Max Pac… unless you’re talking about baby face kneeling in the front. You’re probably right. Looks like him, but hair is too dark..
What about the dude in the middle?
LOL. No, the one standingDefinitely not Max Pac… unless you’re talking about baby face kneeling in the front.
Russians do like to spend summers in Turkey, don’t they. I went to Kusadasi many many years ago — and there were Russians partying everywhere. Was fun!!3rd and 4th in the upper are soccer players. Then Ovi's old friend basketball player, then Ovi and another hockey player with his son. Other 3 guys maybe are random. Maybe not, dont know. Summer in Turkey, many are there.
3rd from the left looks familiar….what are the two soccer player’s names?3rd and 4th in the upper are soccer players. Then Ovi's old friend basketball player, then Ovi and another hockey player with his son. Other 3 guys maybe are random. Maybe not, dont know. Summer in Turkey, many are there.
Im not sure where I saw it. I think Sammi posted it. But Ovie was talking about his diet and offseason training.3rd from the left looks familiar….what are the two soccer player’s names?
And for those who were hoping to see a rededicated Ovechkin, getting his aging body into top shape….I think we can forget that lol…..(there’s actually time, he could do a lot in 8 weeks, so we’ll see).

Pretty much said he eats what he wants when he wants. And doesnt train in the offseason, Training camp is the only time hes on a diet and working to get in shape.
I think it was fine back when he "played heavy" in that he was skating hard and laying big hits.I got lambasted earlier this year for pointing out Ovi hasn't ever really cared, or prepared, about his fitness like a modern athlete should. He could have probably been so far past where he's currently at, physically, if he'd taken it serious during his career.
Just imagine how much more dominant he could have been if he'd done so.
I dunno man, the heavy game may have just been a byproduct of him never taking his diet serious and always using training camp to get into shape. Outside of maybe the Trotz era, I don't know if the team was really a "heavy" team in that regard. On top of that, the speed and agility difference from like 2010 and before to 2012 and onward was pretty drastic to my eye and that's for someone who we've already established didn't have or take any massive injuries.I think it was fine back when he "played heavy" in that he was skating hard and laying big hits.
He's not doing that as much anymore...not by a longshot...so he's going to find that 40yrs old is not the same as 30 or even 35.
He's going to have to lighten the load and train better to do many things he took for granted.
I largely agree with you on his overall dedication to fitness, but @goon is also right, in that it luckily played right into the later version of the Caps that had that heavy game team identity that the coaches talked about a lot.I dunno man, the heavy game may have just been a byproduct of him never taking his diet serious and always using training camp to get into shape. I'm not saying he was bad obviously, but if he'd taken his physical health even half as serious as Crosby or Mackinnon? I can't imagine how much better he'd be.

Yeah. He was skating and hitting and his body weight was probably more like protective insulation than a hindrance because he moved like a freak, it was a very "if it ain't broke" mentality and I kind of get it. They say you lose a lot of mass over a season like the NHL's so I can see that working when you're also a talented monster.I think it was fine back when he "played heavy" in that he was skating hard and laying big hits.
