I wonder what the conversation with Mojo was. Clear that they signed him at an amount that can be buried. I would suspect (just a hunch) that Mojo was told he could end up in Hershey. If so, Mojo was probably ok with it because i think he likes the organization. He is unlikely to get claimed (and if he is, so what), and if he goes down he provides leadership and much needed depth at LW. And if injuries happen, he can come back up.

SAid this before, but i do think that Lavi and GMBM are probably looking to evolve their use of youth this year. So it is quite possible that we will see youngsters getting more opportunities. Lavi may in fact play CMM more at center than Eller. Doesn’t affect his trade value if we do that because everyone knows what Eller can do. If CMM does well at 3C we could see Eller moved before Wilson comes back. If Hags is on LTIR then play Eller at 4C (Snively or AJF at 3LW). If Hags plays, then Eller is 3LW (and Snively/AJF on bench).

I know this is HF and we all want to see they kids get more chances and playing time. Be prepared to see lots of Mojo, Eller, and Hags. Hell that could even be the 3rd line some point.

Bob Stauffer, who covers the Oilers.

So perhaps indicating it'll be CGY or WSH, though others could well be interested. I don't know that I follow the logic here for the Caps...certainly not to the point of offering more than a PTO. Ideally he's probably a 3RW at best, not really a checker type per se, and you'd figure that's where Oshie fits best these days.

Virtanen has been at replacement level for his career and Washington is already flush with forwards. Oh and he’s also a scumbag.

Not saying there is any truth to the rumors that Washington is interested in him, but I’d be really disappointed if they were. The tangibles and intangibles are both bad!

As for Snively and Leason while they are on one ways, they also have two year deals so might be easier to sneak them on waivers.

Org seems to reward guys with one ways that have paid their dues so I wouldn’t pencil them in at all

I am confused. Doesn’t it just say that he’s not going to EDM? Why does that mean CGY or WSH?

Or am I missing something here

Why?

We already have better own rookies that deserve that ice-time more than that scumbag.

24th out of 32 in "star power" seems about right. Washington is a deep team but lacks true pop at the top-end of the lineup, especially at forward.

Kuznetsov not being on this list with some of the names they did put on felt like a pretty significant miss. And Erik Karlsson? The Athletic just listed him as an honorable mention for one of the worst contracts in the league. I suppose one could try to argue that he could be a top 100 player and have a garbage contract but the list felt like a C+/B- effort.

Kuznetsov’s offensive and defensive impacts haven’t been terribly strong combined over the past few years. And last year he ranked 114th in 5v5 points/60. He really is a tweener 1B/2A center more than anything, so I understand his placement outside of the top 100.

And yeah Karlsson is being paid like a Tier 1 player. Doesn’t mean he hasn’t been quite good minus a season or two. He actually rebounded nicely last year, even if he wasn’t his old flashy self.

Well the article’s author put their top 100 players into 4 tiers with 3 subtiers each.

But if every tier is a superstar tier (as the author clearly states and wasn’t just totally made up) such that players like Adam Pelech and Phillip Danault are considered superstars, then doesn’t the word “superstar” lose all meaning?

I get it. Was just having a Pavlovian reaction to "makes you think"

McMichael mentioned.

There are plenty of indicators that he could have a very good year. He just needs the opportunity.

I think that we really may have something in Suzdalev......It's very early, but this could look like a steal in the future. If the kid puts it all together, he is legit. Great potential risk/reward in round three.
