Huh. Mildly surprised by that. But, good for him and then. Brantford fans seemed to think he would be better off going an NCAA type route for a bit.
I figured he get a contract, he put up over 100 this year and finished 6th in scoring. If nothing else you've got a future Hershey player.Huh. Mildly surprised by that. But, good for him and then. Brantford fans seemed to think he would be better off going an NCAA type route for a bit.
Totally….would have been a poor choice to not lock him up after the year he had.I figured he get a contract, he put up over 100 this year and finished 6th in scoring. If nothing else you've got a future Hershey player.
It's hard to get too excited about his production (he's overage and got to play with Nick Lardis who destroyed the OHL this year). What is intriguing is his all-around potential. Going back to earlier in this thread (DWGie26), he was voted near the top by OHL coaches in the hardest working, best at faceoffs, and best penalty killer categories.I figured he get a contract, he put up over 100 this year and finished 6th in scoring. I think you can get excited about the production AND project him as a defensive center who can chip in with some scoring. It's hard to get too excited about his production (he's overage and got to play with Nick Lardis who destroyed the OHL this year). If he can bring those assets and along with some skill, then you've got an NHL future as a defensive center.
Yeah, I'm less excited about his point totals and more about his other assets if he's going to play at the NHL level. That said, I think he's a long shot but his point totals could potentially be exciting at the AHL level. Hershey needs to get some guys lined up that can produce at a young age. If he carves out a high scoring AHL career and sticks around for awhile there's nothing wrong with that. It's hard to get too excited about his production (he's overage and got to play with Nick Lardis who destroyed the OHL this year). Mateiko, Thomas and Allen are also still active. Some of the second round kicks off tonight. London (Allen) plays Erie tonight. Unclear if likely '25 first overall Schaeffer will return for G1 but his return seems likely at some point. Windsor (Protas) also starts against Kitchener tonight and Brantford (Thomas) vs. Oshawa. Rimouski (Mateiko) starts their series with Chicoutimi tomorrow. Spokane's (Cristall) series with Victoria doesn't start until Sunday. Rimouski are this season's Memorial Cup hosts so at least one Caps prospect is assured to be there. I would think London or Windsor stand the best chance of it otherwise. Spokane would need to get past probably Everett and then Medicine Hat. Not impossible but tough sledding. So what's the status of our kids in the CHL? I know Parascek is out and Cristall and L'il Pro are in. But who else we got? And who plays who?
''31. Lane and Cole Hutson’s undrafted older brother, Quinn, who will play for Boston University at the Frozen Four this week, has serious Western Conference interest.'' Friedman

Then on the college side of things, of course, Frozen Four action starting today with BU/Penn St. the late game (8:30 eastern start).
Finnegan! Cannon! Broden!
Don’t hate the playa… hate the game!In all seriousness it is pretty sad that it really feels like you have to be the kid of a former player to make it in any pro league these days
FWIW.
Edit: Apparently all three finalists will be in attendance.
FWIW.
