Never in doubt.

He's attended every possible camp. It doesn't guarantee anything but there really wasn't any red flags either. With a guy like Cutter Gauthier there were red flags all around. He blew them off and didn't attend their camps. Flyers apparently were under the impression it was because of fatigue from long season but being the morons they are they apparently never asked why.

Starting around 51:30, good info on Cole Hutson, apparently he's the one who saw something in the Cornell PK and pointed it out in between periods that led to his PP goal. Interesting stuff.

Pretty much same for me. But I guess they see enough in him to think he can play at some level in the org, more defensive than offensive, and probably just felt the need to lock him up vs risk losing him to another NHL team.

He may never be more than a career AHLer, but there's still value in having that signed.

Re: Chesley, I'd been wondering if they wanted or needed to wait and see on their cap space after signing Leonard before getting him inked to an ELC for this season. (Assuming getting him signed is predicated on playing a game in Washington.) To make sure any performance bonuses and/or injuries and call-ups don't impact their ability to ice a full roster.

They can maybe convince him to wait until next season to start his ELC by giving him a lot of performance bonuses across all 3 seasons. They've got the cap space next season to 'risk' it.

Under my general philosophy of "if I was curious about something and found the answer, someone else might also wonder, so I should say it":

To be eligible for the Calder (Rookie of Year), a player "cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league."

None of Leonard or any other prospects that sign and play from now through the end of the season will surpass that 25 game threshold, so they'll all retain their rookie status and eligibility for next season. Not that I think any of them would be top contenders for it, but still.
