Look, the Leafs have been winning despite playing some garbage hockey against some weak teams. What we're seeing here isn't really shocking.

I feel like the first period of almost every Leafs game requires that people complain. Then about 90% of the time in the last 6 weeks the Leafs win, and everyone loves the team again. Tonight will be no different.
 
I've seen way weaker D plays on breakaways get called for penalty shots...even as I agree it wasn't a penalty shot.

The difference now is though, even when they aren't playing great, they are tight in their own zone. They don't give up the clear chances like they used to... and/or the goalies make a save or two. So the games stay close and the skill takes over (eventually).
 
Prolly better with PP anyways. Need a breather and some practicing passing if anything
