So fun to see Caps at the tops of the leaderboards again, I've really missed that.

Don’t like the helmets, love an 8-1 thrashing. The more this goes on the more I’m feeling it’s sustainable and not just a hot streak. The style of play, the goaltending, the fact we have some balance in the lines. If we can get Lappy going we could be real dangerous

What a fun game and a good hockey night all around for me after watching my local team get smoked 4-1 and the Caps lose to the Pens yesterday... tonight my local team wins on an epic OT goal with a minute left(many twisted teas were consumed), the Bears win on a lucky Ethan Bear goal with under 4 to play and the Caps dismantle the Blues who we usually struggle against. Ovis getting the record this season. I've thought so since last year. When there's a carrot dangling he's going to chase it and always gets it. LT I believe is still on track to become the starter when the games really start to matter. McMikey, what more can be said? What a coming out party for him this year. Pro too, my goodness he's looking like a legitimate top six player. PLD is looking good. None of the things I was worried about with him are even peeking their head out. So cool to have our top six D back together again for the first time all season outside of period 1 game 1. They looked pretty good all night. Sgarbossa looked really good between 13 and 88. Bad look for Lappy. Maybe he needs to cook another season...time will tell.

I even question the Blues goal a little bit. It was scored on an icing that feels like it could/should have been waved off. Binnington left his crease a bit to go after it and then changed his mind.

But no big deal. Great game. That pass from Protas to Ovechkin on his first goal was so nice. Also always fun to see a big Ovechkin hit.

Importantly the team just seems to be having a lot of fun, and I credit a lot of that to Carbery. He just seems like the perfect coach for this era of the team.

Big win after a poor game.

Lost in all of this was that this game serves as a huge win for Logan Thompson Four Nations starting bid. He was really good and the Caps took a huge dump on Binnington's stats.

Favorite part of the game was where the Caps won by seven.
