agreed, the caps unis are an awful hold over from the RBK era which introduced the worst the jerseys the league has seen and ruined all the "throwbacks" they introduced.

Also at the Devils game tonight and they wore them last year here too but the Sharks are wearing their whites with their team helmets and I think it actually works and looks great.

I don't know why they haven't updated the design since 2007. The move from Reebok to Adidas didn't make these look any less wonky, they just botched the collar and striping. The classic uniforms have got to come back.

I think it's pretty clear they've been test-driving a lot of different concepts over the past couple of years for a new post-Ovi look in 26-27. They should file the white jersey, navy helmet experiment away as a failure

Yea, it just seems like they could have done something better for their 50th year. That patch is ugly and looks tacked on and out of place.

Why isn’t there some 50th anniversary design to wear a few times this year? Unless there is, and I missed hearing about it? I’ve assumed the RR black screaming eagle is the only other alternate this year. Glad Ovi likes them, but I dislike the screaming eagle in all forms.

I think I’m the only one who doesn’t really mind the current uni’s (black helmets/white jerseys aside). I think it makes sense to wait for a refresh until after the ovi era ends.

One thing to keep in mind is the Caps and Wizards are both owned by Ted Leonsis and of course share the same arena. I don’t see them switching the colors of one team (eg, back to dark blue and gold) unless the other team is following suit. Arena decorations, concessions packaging, etc is all set up so that they can seamlessly switch back and forth.

The patch doesn't sit right with the jersey ads but I feel like that's just the world we live in.

I agree I would've loved to see a bit more variety (wearing the red OG throwbacks especially) as well but I think Fanatics in their first year as the supplier probably wanted to limit the number of jerseys available.

I'll partially agree with you on the screaming eagles. The jersey pattern is unique without being tacky and the logo itself is a great primary and better than every other "primary" mark they've ever used (both wordmarks, the navy "W", the Weagle, and the capital building). The original colors though are awful, but I love both the black and red RR versions.

This is so much better than their current jerseys. It's right up there with the Ducks eggplant and teal and the Canucks skate jerseys in terms of the great superiority of the old look over the new one. I can't really understand in any of those cases why they don't go back.
