Happy FTK night!

This is the first time this year that I've been upset with our team. This should have been over in the first. This is Ovi and an AHL team with all the injuries. Do better Canes.

Ovi can carry teams by himself. We know this at this point. Just cross your fingers that this isn't the game that he decides to get hot.

they're doing some weird stuff with pressure. testing for the proper level of aggression but they've whiffed on it pretty hard the last couple games.
I noticed that as well.

Plus
Andersen hasn't been as good this year either
Teravainen can't win a puck battle to save his life.
Aho's made some uncharacteristic mistakes.
Trocheck was a good PKer and strong RH face-off guy

That said, the team's PK has been bad the last 3 playoffs running at only 76.8% for all 3 playoffs combined (33 games)

Stupid rebound Freddy couldn't corral, and an Ovi goal cause you know its Ovi. I think despite the score this is one of the better games we have played. Still a little disjointed with the new guys but over all the Canes have had some long possession and have controlled most of the play

So, watching these Buffalo- Detroit highlights, where the hell did Tage Thompson come from, anyway? He's really breaking out into a legit star right now.

Also, our friend Jeff Skinner with a pretty one tonight.

I think that's a lot of reason for the tinkering. this coaching staff is always trying to stay ahead of the trends in doing some things a little unconventionally, but I think this experiment has gone sour. I like the entry denial and aggression but once they possess the puck in your zone it's time to take up the diamond or box and keep it pretty traditional. having guys crash on the weakest puck handler on the point is creating 2 on 1 down low and it's a lot to ask that defense to take the pass away.

I will fully admit, Skinner is one of my favorite Canes. I know he wouldn't fit on Rods team, but he is literally the guy that only scores highlight real goals

I thought he was very impressive player second half last year.
