Main problem is they were letting everything go early and then suddenly changed their minds. Almost like an umpire switching up his strikezone mid 5th inning.

It's pretty much always this way with the west coast teams. Not hard to see why the Kings/Blackhawks have the success they do in the playoffs. There's literally a different rule book when playing west coast teams.

During most line changes six guys are on the ice at some point. Teams will get away with it as long as it's not too early or the guy coming off or on doesn't play the puck before the other one gets on or off. In this case, the guy that played the puck hadn't been changed for yet. The sixth guy on the ice was changing for the d-man at the back door, and neither of those two played the puck.
