Honestly, I think he may have had a chance to take it to start this season, after the disaster that was Vitek's playoffs.

But Schmid had some weak games in his second and third starts this year.

That said, maybe he didn't have any chance. Why the hell wasn't Schmid starting this game? They were gonna keep him on the bench for almost 2 weeks after his game in St. Louis?
