I don't think either were on Vanecek tbh but those are saves you'd want with how fragile this team's mindset is right now with defending. The second one hurts because Luke didn't even do anything wrong necessarily and it ramped off him and in the net. First one is just a blown coverage

Bastian was absolutely floating on that 1st goal. He has to know that reinforcements are coming from the bench.

I get that the 2nd goal was deflected but jesus, Vanecek sure does know how to make himself small in goal

We've had a ton of passengers this season and it's a huge problem.

The bad goalie discourse is funny because it's true, but there's also so much hesitation to actually do something about it. Not many want to spend a 1st rounder to select a goalie. Not many want to trade premium assets or sign a top goalie to a big contract. The solution seems to be... get lucky. Either with a bargain bin goalie performing strongly or with late round picks striking magic.

And I'm not saying you need to, or should, sell the farm for one.
