Expecting a bounce back game tonight. I know this board likes to lose their minds but one sign last night is not the potential of our roster was even our franchise forwards looked disjointed. Passes not connecting, not looking engaged physically. It almost looked like the players were like "Ugh this grind again. We just want another crack at playoffs".

I think that will wear off as soon as they are in the daily grind pretty quickly. I expect to see a more engaged top line tonight. I expect to see the PP executing as they did late in the game and not their earlier attempts. I expect Samsonov to make the saves he should and a few he shouldn't, but more importantly the defense needs to help him when he needs it (in other words... stop leaving the goaltending to bail out the team every time you pinch).

I assume we win tonight. If not, oh boy the internet will be unbearable for a few days. We literally did the same thing last year, lost a few of our first handful and people wanted everyone fired and the core blown up and then they turned it around and improved all season long for our best playoffs I've seen with this core. It will happen again

Washington seems like the perfect team that they aren't so bad the Leafs refuse to show up, but bad enough that the Leafs should win most games against them. Hopefully it's not another let down

Would be more dissapointed if I didn't win the 50/50 draw than be down 0-2 to start the season.
But go leafs go!
 
If core shows up it's an easy win. Jt and Nylander are ready to pile up the points. We might get all 4 on the same page for the first time in a while. Points % is near 80% when that happens.

As for the bottom 6 lets hope Hathaway shows some mercy to that soft as butter 3rd line.
 
No updates on lines so far.

Murray out <> Samsanov in (Samsanov's return to Washington :) ).

Kuemper out <> Lindgren in. We will have a crack at their back up tonight.

Here's a fairly safe prediction on Washington's lines:
