I think this thread can be closed because Mantha was just cleared for contact and is practicing with the team now. That means the Caps can't use his $5.75 million for LTIR and have to move down other players to stay cap compliant.

To see Fleury in a Capitals jersey would be as strange as seeing a guy in a wedding dress.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Mrazek/Lankinen combo in Chicago.

Leafs goaltending has looked bad recently.

Fleury is not a fit anymore with his $7 million cap hit. Mantha will be coming off LTIR soon, which means they will have to send waiver except players down to Hershey and do some other transactions just to stay cap compliant. If the Caps want to acquire a vet goalie, it will have to be someone else.

Crazy thought, if the Avs want Fleury they could trade Kuemper to the Caps and use the return to acquire Fleury.

Campbell probably feels a bit overworked and the Leafs don't trust Mrazek enough to give him more starts. Leafs might want to just upgrade their backup situation. You also have to remember Jake Muzzin has a concussion, so their best d-man is out.

fleury can still play at a high level, hawks are just a garbage team, would be a very nice add for a contender in need of a goalie
