That was pretty disappointing to not come away with at least a point especially with how they were playing. They played pretty well for the most part with a lot of good offensive shifts. The only problem was the finishing.

Not Wolf's strongest game either. Though not necessarily bad

Not a bad game for the Flames. Deserved at least a point out of that one.

I hit a +440 on Protas and a +338 on Ras, Bison & Wilson all having 2+ sog.
Lost on bread, kuzy and ovie tallies.

Overall a good profit game.

I didn't bet the score, and I just called that they'd be more likely to score the 3-1 goal than us the 2-2 goal.

Thankfully for me it was Protas that did it.
A 20+ goal guy 50 games in being offered at only 18.5% implied is absurd.

Hate to say it since I know he’s a Cowtown boy, but it’s true.

This was a very winnable game. The Flames had stretches of some pretty decent hockey, but that stupid Coleman penalty is what ultimately sunk them imho. Caps scored on that PP and never looked back. Oh well, on to the next one.

That Pospy-Sharky-Kuzy line is just not working. We are missing Zary big time.
 
Something must be wrong with Sharangovich. He passed up on so many chances from the right circle where he scored so many goals last year. We’re desperately missing that threat.

Also, Backlund needs to be off the PP forever. He either tries to do it all himself on the zone entry or forces a pass in the zone. And he can’t shoot.

Other than that, decent game. We just desperately lack playmakers/guys who can create offense

Bean was a mediocre signing at best before the ink even dried. It was a shot in the dark hoping a local kid that wants to be there would find his game and that he'd increase his value.

The problem is with Zary injured, we don't really have another center to use on the PP, unless we demote Rango to PP2 but I don't see that happening.

They sent a perfectly good centerman down to the AHL this week who was leading the league in goals and had 4pts in 5 games while he was up with the Flames. Why? Who the f*** knows lol
If it was to play in the the AHL all star game then I'll allow it but bring him back up immediately after.

Pretty sure Backs hasn't scored a PP goal since the first Donald administration.

They said it was an ice-time thing, they feel it's better for him to get huge minutes in teh AHL than tertiary minutes in the NHL. I don't necessarily disagree, especially if he'd be playing with Kuzmenko.

Right now for the Wranglers he's playing like Zary did in the season before he became a regular, it's not a bad thing to let him enjoy a big AHL season.

Personally I'd drop Rango to PP2 and try Pelletier on PP1 since he has good chemistry with Naz and Huby. With teh current roster what I'd like is:

PP1: Huby - Naz - Pelletier - Coronato - Weegar
PP2: Rango - Pickles - Kuzmenko - Andersson - Barrie

Hmm... the dude was flying and his goal was down under Wolfie's blocker... dude might basically be Qantas.

This Protas guy just keeps improving, never heard of him before a few weeks ago and saw he's on pace for 68 points, big big center. Jealous of Washington, they also drafted his brother who is having a decent year in the CHL.

I looked him up end of last season, more in detail in the off season and thought he might be a good bottom 6 candidate to target before he took off. Brought up the idea again at the start of this season. He's from Belarus, so I thought putting him on a line with Sharangovich would be a good idea.

Then he took off beyond what anyone imagined. That contract is a hell of a deal for Washington now, but beyond that, he's a hell of a player. Belarus might be a good place to get some underrated/underscouted talent in the next few years.
