Saw "The Conclave" recently. Pretty good. The Pope dies and the Cardinals all congregate in Rome
to appoint the new Pope. Let the infighting commence. Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow
all do a good job. I didn't care for the ending though, kinda weird. A solid 8 out of 10 (if you skip the last five minutes or so).

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

David Lynch, Twin Peaks and Muholland Drive director, dies aged 78

I'm not normally one to be extremely bummed by celebrity deaths. (I think the last two that really affected me were Steve Albini of Shellac and Adam Yauch of Beastie Boys.) But man, this one really hurts.
Aww man .. one of those beloved directors who highly acclaimed people speak so highly of but I was never smart enough to appreciate

Almost watched Blue Velvet the other day, will def watch soon

Sad news. I loved Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet and Eraserhead back in the day

On a lighter note, big day for animation fans: Castlevania Nocturne S2 and Harley Quinn S5 both out today.

Ahh man this sucks. Blue Velvet I'll never forget first watching it. Have watched Lynch's Dune so many times. Also Wild At Heart another underrated Lynch film.

Wife said she didnt know who Bob Uecker was so I played this last night before we went to bed

I was eating cereal, and I was really high, but I started laughing that became an uncontrollable laugh, just like a 12 year old giggling off his first joint .. .. but I also had food in my mouth so I was having trouble breathing laughing and trying to eat and then Bob keep spitting out zingers

it became a thing

my wife actually stood up off the couch not sure what her next move should be but she felt distance was a good start

Star Wars Skeleton Crew…..I was disappointed the whole show. I found Jude Law’s character so unlikeable when I wanted him to be likeable.

Last episode however was a bit redeeming overall.

Watched that whole thing…..thanks.

Ueck was soooo deadpan……hilarious.

Watched all of Landman now that all the episodes are out on paramount+. It was pretty OK, I expect a season 2 but its was mostly 10 episodes of Billy Bob smoking cigs and talking about oil.

The Jerry Jones cameo is E9 btw

Blue Velvet - watched it last night w the lady, weve been not on the same page lately so I watched 10 mins of the 1st period then cuddled up and watched a movie .. good call

ho le chit, some of those scenes were intense and weird, especially the apartment closet scene .. a little bit too rapey for me, had to turn to the lady and apologize at one point then later in the movie I thought she was going to have to turn to me and apologize .. Dennis Hooper gets into his character, I guarantee he was on lots of cocaine during this filming

HBO max and its commercials ... were gonna binge what we need then cancel. not bc of money but bc these commercials are too much and ruined the movie. I dont need a loud rock n roll St James Gym commercial immediately cut to right after a women was raped and crying and youre soaking it all in on your couch

Saw Blue Velvet in the theater. Even back then it was trippy stuff.

Neil, you might want to check out Wild At Heart with Laura Dern and Nik Cage that is another Lynch film. There are some challenging scenes in that one.
Also a big fan of Wild at Heart. I think Mulholland Drive is my fav to re-watch - couple scenes scare my very soul, lol. I even like Fire Walk with Me - which was made cooler by Twin Peaks: Return.

I was in a meeting at work once and Blue Velvet came up. My boss and others were saying how weird and offensive it was. I tried defending it, but they just stared at me like I was a lunatic. Oh well, different strokes…

Lion - 5 mins in I realized I already seen it but fam didnt so rewatched it .. solid but I really hope there is not a 3rd viewing scheduled in my future

American Primeval - thru ep 3, good not great, fast paced, lots of action and people dying in various ways. A lot of red dead vibes which is cool but storyline idk .... kinda wish they focused just on pratt more maybe or started ep 1 and 2 as a get to know the characters build up/ see them at their happy times so we have an emotional connection and rooting interest that they dont die

series just starts w killing and I cant say I care who lives or dies bc I dont know them

Leftovers - we are 3 ep in season 2 .. new town, fought liking ep 1 bc of my fear of change and new things but this season is growing on me .. but not seeing this as some top 10 all time show imo
